How much does dermal filler cost in Seoul?
Korean clinics price hyaluronic acid filler per cc, which is one milliliter, usually one syringe. The brand is the main price driver, followed by how many cc you need. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, you can choose a well-established Korean HA filler or an imported brand, and the doctor recommends a product and volume after examining your face.

How many cc of filler does each area need?
The number of cc you need affects your total cost more than any other factor after brand. These are common ranges; your doctor sets the actual amount after examining you, and often suggests starting conservatively.
- Chin: often 1–2cc, depending on how much projection you want.
- Cheeks: commonly 1–2cc for both sides.
- Nasolabial folds (smile lines): often around 1–2cc.
- Temples: commonly 1–2cc for both sides.
- Lips: about 1cc for a first treatment.
- Under-eyes: 0.5–1cc in total for both eyes.

Korean HA filler vs Restylane vs Juvéderm
All three are hyaluronic acid fillers, which means they are made from a substance naturally present in the skin and can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. The differences lie in manufacturer, gel properties, range of product types and price.
Korean HA filler
Korean HA fillers are widely used in Korea and are the reason filler is relatively affordable in Seoul. They come in different firmness levels for different areas.
Restylane
Restylane, made by Galderma, is an imported range with products designed for different depths and areas, including Kysse for lips.
Juvéderm
Juvéderm, made by Allergan, is another imported range, including Volbella for fine areas such as the lips and under-eyes.
The best choice depends on the area, your tissue and how long you want results to last. Read hyaluronic acid filler brands for a fuller comparison.
Who is a good candidate for filler?
Usually a good fit
- Mild to moderate volume loss in the cheeks or temples
- A short or recessed chin that you would like to balance
- Smile lines that have deepened with age
- Thin lips or loss of lip definition
Talk to the doctor first
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Active infection or cold sores near the area
- Previous permanent filler or unknown filler in the same area
- Blood-thinning medication or bleeding disorders
Not every concern needs filler. Gradual volume loss may respond better to collagen stimulators, and muscle-driven lines usually respond better to Botox. See Botox vs dermal filler.
What happens on filler treatment day
- English consultation. A licensed doctor examines your face at rest and in motion, discusses your goals and explains whether filler is the right tool. The product, volume and final price are agreed before anything starts.
- Photos and marking. Standard photos are taken for your record, and the treatment points are marked.
- Numbing. Numbing cream is applied, and many fillers also contain lidocaine to make injection more comfortable.
- Injection. The doctor injects with a fine needle or a blunt cannula, depending on the area, checking symmetry as they go. Most areas take 20–30 minutes.
- Review and aftercare. You check the result in the mirror with the doctor, then receive written aftercare in English, including who to contact if anything feels unusual.
What else affects your total filler cost?
Beyond brand and volume, a few factors shape what you pay. Treating several areas in one visit increases total volume. Choosing a softer, specialized product for delicate areas, such as lips or under-eyes, costs more than a standard filler. If you have old filler in the area, the doctor may suggest dissolving it first or waiting, which changes the plan. Finally, Korean prices are often quoted before 10% VAT, so always compare like with like. A very low price per cc is not good value if the product is not the one you agreed to, so ask to see the sealed syringe and label before treatment.
Is filler safe? Risks you should know
HA filler is widely used and generally safe in trained hands, but it is a medical procedure with real risks. Common effects include swelling, tenderness and bruising that settle over a few days. Less common issues include lumps, asymmetry or a bluish tint if filler is placed too superficially.
The most serious risk is vascular occlusion, where filler blocks a blood vessel. It is rare but can cause skin damage and, in very rare cases, vision problems. The risk is higher in areas such as the nose, the area between the brows and the under-eyes. This is why filler should be performed only by a licensed doctor who knows facial anatomy, uses careful technique and keeps hyaluronidase on hand. If you notice severe pain, skin blanching or color changes, or any change in vision after filler, seek medical help immediately. See side effects and when to contact us.
Filler results timeline
| When | What you may notice |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Immediate shape change; some swelling |
| Days 1–3 | Swelling and tenderness peak, then ease |
| About 2 weeks | Filler settles; the best time to judge results |
| 6–18 months | Gradual softening as the body breaks down HA |
Flying home? Many people fly a day or two after filler, but swelling may be more noticeable on a long flight. Leave a few days if you can, and avoid alcohol before flying. Read flying after Botox and fillers.
