Rejuran Healer vs Profhilo: the short version

Both treatments aim to improve skin quality rather than change your face shape. Neither adds visible volume like a filler. The difference lies in the ingredient and how it behaves in the skin.

  • Rejuran Healer is a Korean polynucleotide (PN) injectable from Pharma Research. PN fragments are associated with supporting the skin's repair environment, so the benefits center on resilience, thickness, elasticity and a calmer surface.
  • Profhilo is made by IBSA. It contains a high concentration of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA) that is thermally stabilized rather than chemically cross-linked. It spreads through the tissue after injection, hydrating and softening the skin and improving firmness.

Full details are on our Rejuran Healer and Profhilo treatment pages.

What are the benefits of Rejuran Healer?

Rejuran has a strong following in Korea among people whose skin feels thin, tired or reactive. Commonly reported benefits after a full series include:

  • Calmer skin that reacts less to products and weather changes
  • Improved thickness and elasticity, so the skin feels bouncier
  • Smoother texture and a softer look to fine lines
  • Support for shallow scarring and enlarged pores when extra product is placed in those areas

Change is gradual. Most people notice it after the second session, and the full effect builds over the series. See when you will see Rejuran results.

What are the benefits of Profhilo?

Profhilo is often described as bio-remodeling. Because the HA is so concentrated and spreads evenly, it is particularly helpful when skin has become dry, crepey and slightly loose.

  • Deep hydration that makes skin look plumper and more supple
  • Improved firmness in mildly lax skin on the face and neck
  • Softer crepey texture, including on the neck, décolletage and hands
  • Few injection points, so the treatment is quick

How are the treatments performed differently?

This is where the two differ most on the day.

Factor Rejuran Healer Profhilo
Ingredient Polynucleotides (salmon-derived) Stabilized hyaluronic acid
Injection pattern Many small points across the face Five points on each side of the face (BAP technique)
Session time 30–45 minutes including numbing Usually shorter
Standard plan 3 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart 2 sessions, about 4 weeks apart
Visible bumps Small bumps for 1–3 days Bumps at injection points for about 24 hours
Maintenance About every 6 months Results last about 6 months after 2 sessions
Best for Thin, sensitive, tired skin Dry, crepey, mildly lax skin

These are typical ranges. Your doctor adjusts the plan to your skin.

Which one is right for you?

Leaning toward Rejuran Healer

  • Your skin is sensitive, red or easily irritated
  • You want better texture and elasticity over time
  • You have shallow scars or pores you want to address
  • You can do three visits, or are in Seoul for a few weeks

Leaning toward Profhilo

  • Your skin feels dry, dehydrated or crepey
  • You notice mild laxity on the face or neck
  • You prefer fewer injection points
  • You can return about four weeks later for session two

If your concern is crepey or thinning skin, our crepey skin page explains how both options fit alongside lifting devices. Neither treatment replaces lifting for noticeable sagging.

Can Rejuran Healer or Profhilo be combined with other treatments?

Yes, and in Seoul this is common. Skin boosters improve the quality of the skin itself, while lifting devices and lasers work on different problems, so the treatments often complement each other rather than compete.

  • With lifting devices. Radiofrequency or ultrasound lifting tightens and lifts; a booster afterward helps the skin look hydrated and smooth on top of that structure. Doctors usually perform the device first and the injection after, or stage them on different days.
  • With pigment lasers. People treating dullness or uneven tone sometimes pair a booster with toning sessions. Rejuran is a popular partner for laser courses because of its calming reputation.
  • With Botox. Wrinkle Botox relaxes expression lines, which boosters cannot do. The two are frequently booked in the same visit.

The main rule is not to overload the skin in one day, especially if you are flying soon. Your doctor will set the order and spacing. Our guide to combining treatments in one visit explains typical sequences for visitors.

Another useful question is how each option fits your long-term routine at home. Rejuran's maintenance every six months and Profhilo's roughly six-month cycle both work well with annual or twice-yearly trips to Korea, and both can be continued with a qualified doctor in your home country if the product is available there. Bring your treatment record from Dernia so the next doctor knows exactly what was used and how much.

Are they safe? Side effects and who should wait

Both are established injectables with a good safety record in trained hands. Expected effects are temporary: redness, small raised bumps, mild swelling and occasional bruising. Less common issues include lumps that persist longer, infection and allergic-type reactions. With any HA injection, there is also a small risk of vascular complications, which is why a doctor who knows facial anatomy should perform it.

  • Tell your doctor about any fish or salmon allergy before Rejuran.
  • Wait if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, or have had a recent procedure in the same area.
  • Mention blood thinners and supplements that raise bruising risk.

Planning Rejuran or Profhilo around your Seoul trip

  • One trip only? A single session of either still helps. Ask your doctor which gives more value from one visit for your skin.
  • Two trips or a long stay? Profhilo's two sessions four weeks apart fit a month-long stay; Rejuran's series suits two to six weeks in Seoul or repeat visits.
  • Schedule wisely. Avoid your arrival day and leave a day for bumps to settle before photos or events.
  • Location. Dernia is in Myeongdong, near Myeongdong Station (Line 4) and Euljiro 1-ga Station (Line 2).
  • Book ahead through our consultation form with your dates and concerns.

Can't finish the series before you fly? That is common. Your doctor can suggest how to continue at home or on your next visit. Read what if I can't finish a series for practical options.
