Rejuran I is a fine polynucleotide booster made for the thin skin under the eyes. This guide explains what it can improve, what it cannot, how safe it is, and how to fit it into a trip to Seoul.
Rejuran I, also called Rejuran Eye, is a finer polynucleotide (PN) skin booster designed for the delicate under-eye area. It aims to support skin repair and thickness, softening crepey texture, fine lines and the tired look of thin skin, rather than filling hollows. Most people plan 2–3 sessions 2–4 weeks apart, with mild swelling for 1–2 days. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong in Seoul, Rejuran Eye starts from ₩189,000 for 1cc covering both under-eyes (KRW, excluding 10% VAT).
Prices are in Korean won, exclude 10% VAT and are confirmed by a doctor at consultation.
What is Rejuran I (Rejuran Eye)?
Rejuran I is a member of the Rejuran family of injectables made by Pharma Research in Korea. Like Rejuran Healer, it contains polynucleotides (PN), purified DNA fragments derived from salmon that are thought to support the skin's own repair and regeneration. The difference is the formula: Rejuran I is finer and designed to spread smoothly in the very thin skin under the eyes.
It is a skin-quality treatment, not a volumizer. Instead of lifting a hollow the way filler does, it aims to make the skin itself thicker, smoother and more resilient over a few weeks. Learn more on our Rejuran Eye treatment page.
What are the benefits of Rejuran I for under-eye skin?
The under-eye area has some of the thinnest skin on the body, and it shows age, dehydration and fatigue early. Rejuran I is used to address skin-level concerns there:
- Crepey texture. Fine, crinkled skin under the eyes can look smoother and more even.
- Fine lines. Shallow lines below the eye and at the outer corner may soften.
- Thin, see-through skin. As skin quality improves, it can look less translucent, which may reduce some of the shadowing that makes eyes look tired.
- A natural look. Because it does not add volume, there is no risk of looking overfilled.
It is important to be realistic. Rejuran I does not remove fat bags, correct deep tear troughs or change pigment-based dark circles. Those need different approaches, which your doctor will discuss. See dark circles and crepey, thinning skin.
Who is a good candidate for Rejuran I?
Usually a good fit
- Thin, crepey or finely lined under-eye skin
- A tired look without major hollows or bags
- People who prefer not to have filler near the eyes
- Those who can plan 2–3 sessions over a few weeks
Talk to the doctor first
- Fish or salmon allergy
- Prominent fat bags (Agnes RF or surgery may suit better)
- Deep hollows that need volume
- Pregnancy, breastfeeding or active eye infection
Rejuran I vs under-eye filler: which do you need?
Visitors often ask whether they should choose a booster or filler. The answer depends on the cause of the problem.
| Rejuran Eye (Rejuran I) | Under-eye filler | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Improves skin quality and thickness | Adds volume to a hollow |
| Best for | Crepey skin and fine lines | Tear trough hollows and shadows |
| Results | Gradual over weeks | Visible immediately |
| Sessions | 2–3, 2–4 weeks apart | Usually one |
| Main risks | Swelling, bumps, bruising | Bruising, lumps, rare vascular occlusion |
| Dernia price from | ₩189,000 (1cc) | ₩290,000 (1cc) |
Some people benefit from both, with Rejuran improving the skin and a small amount of filler softening a hollow. Compare them in detail in under-eye filler vs Rejuran Eye.
What happens on treatment day
- English consultation. A licensed doctor examines your under-eyes in good light to separate skin-quality issues from hollows, bags and pigment.
- Numbing. Numbing cream is applied for around 20–30 minutes.
- Injection. Small amounts are placed under the eyes with a fine needle or cannula, avoiding the eye itself.
- Cooling. A cold pack helps limit swelling before you leave.
The injection takes about 20–30 minutes. Polynucleotide injections can sting more than hyaluronic acid boosters; read does Rejuran hurt? for what to expect.
Rejuran I results: when will you see a difference?
Rejuran works gradually. Small bumps and slight puffiness are common for a day or two. After that, most people notice the skin looking smoother and less crepey over two to four weeks, with the effect building across a series. Maintenance sessions every several months help keep the improvement. See Rejuran Eye results and when will I see Rejuran results?
Recovery and aftercare after Rejuran I
Recovery is usually short, but the under-eye area swells more easily than other parts of the face, so a little planning helps.
- Same day: expect small bumps and slight puffiness. A cold pack for a few minutes at a time can help.
- First night: sleep with your head slightly raised and avoid pressing or rubbing your eyes.
- First 1–2 days: skip saunas, jjimjilbang, hot baths, intense exercise and alcohol, which can increase swelling and bruising.
- Makeup: most doctors suggest waiting until the next day so injection points can close.
- Contact lenses: many people prefer glasses for the rest of the day to avoid touching the area.
- Sun protection: use sunscreen and sunglasses; thin under-eye skin is sensitive to UV.
Bruising, if it appears, is usually small and fades within a week. Concealer can cover it once the skin has settled.
Combining Rejuran I with other eye treatments
Under-eye concerns often have more than one cause, so the best result sometimes comes from combining approaches. A doctor may suggest pairing Rejuran Eye with a small amount of filler for a hollow, with Agnes RF for small fat pads, or with laser toning for pigment-based dark circles. These are usually staged rather than done all at once, to keep swelling manageable and make it easier to see what each step achieves. Our Eye Rejuvenation Package shows one way treatments can be combined. Your doctor will only recommend what your eyes actually need.
Is Rejuran I safe? Side effects and risks
Rejuran I is widely used in Korea, and side effects are usually mild and temporary. Because the skin is thin and the area is delicate, it should always be performed by a doctor.
- Common: swelling, small bumps, redness, tenderness and bruising for a few days.
- Less common: visible bumps that take longer to settle, or uneven texture early on.
- Rare: infection or an allergic reaction. People with fish allergy should tell the doctor first.
Rejuran I does not carry the same volumizing risks as filler, but any injection near the eye needs careful technique. If you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, vision changes or a fever, contact the clinic straight away. Read side effects and when to contact us.
