Chin filler is one of the most popular non-surgical contouring treatments in Seoul. Here is what it costs, how many cc most people need, how long it lasts, and what to consider before booking it on a trip to Korea.
Chin filler in Korea is priced per cc of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, Korean HA filler costs ₩150,000 for 1cc and ₩280,000 for 2cc, while Restylane is ₩290,000 and Juvéderm ₩350,000 per cc (KRW, excluding 10% VAT). Most people need 1–2cc for the chin. Results are visible immediately, settle over about two weeks and typically last around 12 months or longer, depending on the product and your metabolism. A doctor examines your profile and confirms the plan and price before treatment.
Prices are in Korean won, exclude 10% VAT and are confirmed by a doctor at consultation.
What is chin filler?
Chin filler uses hyaluronic acid gel to add projection, length or definition to the chin without surgery. It is often used to balance the profile when the chin is short or set back, to create a smoother line from the lower lip to the neck, or to support a slimmer, more tapered lower face. In Korea, it is frequently combined with jaw Botox as part of a V-line approach.
Chin filler is different from a chin implant. Dernia Clinic Myeongdong does not offer chin implants or other surgical chin procedures. If you are considering surgery, a surgical specialist is the right person to advise you. Chin filler is a temporary, adjustable alternative that suits many people who want a moderate change. See the chin area page for related treatments.

How many cc of chin filler do you need?
Most people need 1–2cc for the chin. The amount depends on how much projection or length you want, the shape of your jaw and the thickness of your soft tissue. Some people with a very recessed chin may need more, but doctors usually prefer to build gradually rather than place a large volume at once. A natural result comes from balancing the chin with the nose, lips and jawline, not from maximizing volume.
- 1cc: refinement, a slightly more defined tip, or correcting minor asymmetry.
- 2cc: more noticeable projection or lengthening for a short or recessed chin.
- Top-up later: some people add a small amount on a later visit once the first filler has settled.
How long does chin filler last?
The chin is a relatively stable area with less movement than the lips, so chin filler often lasts longer than lip filler. Many people find it lasts around 12 months, and sometimes longer, but this varies. Firmer fillers designed for structure tend to last longer than soft gels. Your metabolism, activity level and the product used all play a role.
| When | What you may notice |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Immediate change in chin shape; some swelling |
| Days 1–3 | Swelling and tenderness ease |
| About 2 weeks | Filler settles into its final shape |
| 6–18 months | Gradual softening as HA is broken down |
These are typical ranges, not guarantees. See the dermal filler results timeline.
Cost per year of result
Because chin filler tends to last longer than filler in more mobile areas, the cost per month of result is often reasonable. When you budget, consider that some people top up with a smaller amount after a year rather than repeating the full original volume, because some filler may still remain. Your doctor can advise at follow-up whether a top-up is needed at all, and whether the shape still suits your face as it naturally changes over time.
Which filler brand is best for the chin?
The chin needs a filler with enough firmness to hold shape and project. Korean HA fillers, Restylane and Juvéderm all have products suited to structural areas. The doctor chooses a product based on your tissue and goals. Korean HA keeps the cost lower, while imported brands may be preferred by visitors who have a history with them at home. Is chin filler right for you?
Usually a good fit
- A short or slightly recessed chin
- A soft or poorly defined chin-to-neck line
- Mild chin asymmetry
- People who want a reversible, non-surgical change
Talk to the doctor first
- A strongly recessed chin or bite problems, which may need a surgical or dental opinion
- Previous permanent filler or an implant in the chin
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Active infection, acne or cold sores near the area
If your lower face looks wide because of muscle rather than a short chin, jaw Botox may help more. Many people combine both; see the V-Line Contour package.
What happens on treatment day
- English consultation. The doctor assesses your profile, chin, lips and nose together, explains what filler can and cannot achieve, and agrees the product, volume and price.
- Numbing and marking. Numbing cream is applied, and key points are marked.
- Injection. Filler is placed with a needle or blunt cannula, usually deep near the bone for structure. The doctor checks your profile throughout.
- Review. You look at the result together, then receive written aftercare in English.
Is chin filler safe? Risks and side effects
Chin filler is generally considered a lower-risk filler area than the nose or under-eyes, but it is still a medical procedure. Common effects include swelling, tenderness and bruising for a few days. Less common issues include lumps, asymmetry or filler migrating if too much is placed. Infection is rare.
The most serious risk with any filler is vascular occlusion, where filler blocks a blood vessel. It is rare in the chin, but it can happen. Signs include severe or increasing pain, skin turning white or dusky, or mottled skin. Seek medical help immediately if you notice these. Dernia doctors keep hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves HA filler, available at all times. Read side effects and when to contact us.
- Avoid pressing or massaging the chin unless the doctor advises it.
- Avoid alcohol, saunas and intense exercise for one to two days.
- Sleep on your back for the first night if you can.
Flying home? Many people fly within a day or two of chin filler, but swelling can be more noticeable on a long flight. Leave a few days if possible so the doctor can review you. Read flying after Botox and fillers.
