Quick answer

InMode uses radiofrequency: Forma gently heats and firms the skin, and Mini FX targets small fat pockets under the chin and along the jowls, usually over a series of 3–5 sessions. Titanium Lifting uses a diode laser that fires three wavelengths at once to tighten and brighten the skin, often with a visible effect straight after one session that lasts about 3–6 months. Choose InMode for contouring soft fullness, Titanium for a quick firm, bright look. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, InMode starts from ₩129,000 per session and Titanium Lifting from ₩450,000 for the full face, excluding 10% VAT.

InMode vs Titanium Lifting: the key difference

Both treatments are gentle, comfortable and need no downtime, so they are often compared by visitors who want a firmer face without needles. But they use different energy and do slightly different jobs. InMode is a radiofrequency (RF) platform: Forma firms the skin and Mini FX reduces small pockets of fat, so it is a contouring treatment as well as a tightening one. Titanium Lifting uses a diode laser with three wavelengths to heat the skin and the tissue just below it, giving a tightening and brightening effect that many people notice straight away.

For an overview of the devices used in Korea, see Korean lifting treatments explained.

How does InMode Forma and Mini FX work?

Forma glides continuously over the skin, raising its temperature gradually to a set target. It feels warm and relaxing and supports collagen and glow. Mini FX is designed for small, stubborn fat pockets, typically under the chin and along the jowls. Because each session is gentle, results build over a series of about three to five sessions, followed by maintenance every one to three months. InMode is priced per session by area and applicator. See the InMode Forma and Mini FX page.

How does Titanium Lifting work?

Titanium Lifting uses a diode laser that fires three wavelengths at the same time. The combined heat reaches the dermis and the tissue just beneath it, contracting collagen and encouraging new collagen, while the surface is cooled. Many people see a firmer, brighter and slightly more lifted look right after treatment, which is why it is popular before events. Results typically last about three to six months. It is priced by area. See the Titanium Lifting page.

Which is better for contouring and tightening?

The better choice depends on what is making your face look less defined.

  • Choose InMode if soft fullness under the chin or along the jowls is blurring your jawline. Mini FX addresses that fat directly, and Forma firms the skin over it. It suits longer stays or people who visit Seoul regularly, because results build over several sessions.
  • Choose Titanium Lifting if your skin looks dull and slightly loose, and you want a visible tightening and brightening effect from a single visit, for example before a wedding, photos or a business event.
  • Consider combining them over time if you have both fullness and dull, loose skin. Your doctor will advise on spacing.

Neither is designed for significant sagging; deeper lifting with Ulthera Prime or a thread lift may be discussed in that case. Typical timelines are on the InMode results and Titanium Lifting results pages.

Who is a good candidate?

Usually a good fit

  • InMode: mild under-chin fullness, padded jowls, early laxity
  • Titanium: dull or tired-looking skin, mild looseness, upcoming events
  • People who want comfortable treatments with no downtime
  • Anyone who prefers to avoid needles

Talk to the doctor first

  • Pacemakers, implanted electronic devices or metal implants in the area (for RF)
  • Recent tanning or strong sun exposure (for laser)
  • Pregnancy, active infection or open wounds
  • Moderate to heavy sagging that needs a stronger approach

What happens on treatment day

  1. English consultation. A licensed doctor examines your skin and contour, explains which option fits and agrees the areas, plan and price with you.
  2. Preparation. The skin is cleansed. Most people need little or no numbing for either treatment.
  3. Treatment. For InMode, Forma is glided until the skin reaches its target temperature and Mini FX is applied to marked pockets. For Titanium, the laser handpiece is passed over the face in repeated passes with surface cooling.
  4. Soothing and aftercare. The skin is calmed and you leave with written aftercare in English.

Both treatments can also be combined with other procedures in one visit; see combining treatments in one visit.

Is it safe? Risks and side effects

Both are considered low-risk treatments under medical supervision. After InMode Forma, warmth and redness usually fade within hours. After Mini FX, temporary swelling, tenderness or numbness under the chin can last a few days. After Titanium Lifting, mild redness and warmth typically settle within hours. Uncommonly, either treatment can cause small burns or blisters if settings or contact are not right; with laser, temporary pigment changes are possible, especially on tanned skin, so your doctor checks your skin first. Tell the doctor about any filler, threads or implants. Contact the clinic promptly if you notice blistering, worsening pain or lasting numbness.

It also helps to set realistic expectations. Titanium's same-day firmness is partly from immediate collagen contraction and mild swelling, so the look settles over the first days, while the collagen benefit continues for several weeks. InMode's contouring depends on how much soft fat there is and on keeping your weight stable. Take photos in the same light before treatment and again a few weeks later so you can judge the change fairly. Sun protection and good skincare help either result last longer; see our skincare routine after treatments.
