Juvelook and Skinvive are both injected across the face for better skin, but one rebuilds texture over months while the other delivers hydration and glow within weeks. Here is how to choose in Seoul.
Juvelook is a PDLLA collagen stimulator that refines enlarged pores, rough texture, fine lines and shallow scars over two to three months, usually across two to three sessions. Skinvive is a hyaluronic acid microdroplet injection that improves hydration, smoothness and glow within about one to two weeks, usually in one session lasting around six months. Choose Juvelook for pores and texture, Skinvive for dull, dehydrated skin. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong in Seoul, Juvelook starts from ₩299,000 (2cc) and Skinvive from ₩290,000 (1 syringe), excluding 10% VAT.
Prices are in Korean won, exclude 10% VAT and are confirmed by a doctor at consultation.
Juvelook vs Skinvive: what is the difference?
Both are injected in small amounts across the face, both aim for better skin rather than a new shape, and both are popular with visitors to Seoul. But they work in fundamentally different ways.
- Juvelook, from Vaim Global in Korea, combines PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) with hyaluronic acid. The PDLLA stimulates new collagen in the dermis over the following months. That collagen tightens the walls around pores, smooths rough texture and lifts the base of shallow scars.
- Skinvive by Juvéderm, from Allergan, is a lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel placed as microdroplets. HA attracts and holds water, so skin looks smoother, more hydrated and more radiant without visible volume.
In short: Juvelook is a structural, collagen-building treatment; Skinvive is a hydration treatment. See our Juvelook and Skinvive pages for full details.
Which is better for large pores?
For enlarged pores, Juvelook usually has the edge. Pores look bigger when the surrounding skin loses collagen and elasticity, which lets the opening stretch and cast a shadow. By rebuilding collagen around them, Juvelook can make pores look finer and the surface more even over several months.
Skinvive can make pores look slightly less obvious in the short term because well-hydrated skin reflects light more smoothly, but it does not rebuild the structure around the pore. If your pores are mainly driven by oil, rather than lost elasticity, skin Botox may also be worth discussing. See large pore treatments for all options.
Which is better for hydration and glow?
For dull, dehydrated skin that looks flat and tired, Skinvive is the more direct answer. HA draws water into the skin, giving a smoother, more luminous surface within about one to two weeks once small bumps settle. A single session commonly lasts around six months.
Juvelook also contains HA, so there is some early hydration, but its main benefit appears later as collagen builds. If you want a visible glow before an event or a return flight, Skinvive is generally the faster route. See dehydrated skin treatments for more.

Who is each treatment best for?
Juvelook is usually the fit
- Enlarged pores on the cheeks and nose area
- Rough, uneven or scarred texture
- Fine lines with early loss of firmness
- You can commit to a series and wait for results
Skinvive is usually the fit
- Dull, flat or dehydrated-looking skin
- Fine surface roughness on the cheeks
- You only have time for one session
- You want a glow within a couple of weeks
If you have both concerns, a common approach is Juvelook to rebuild texture, followed by Skinvive later for glow. Your doctor will advise on spacing so the skin is not overloaded.
What happens on treatment day
- English consultation. A licensed doctor examines your pores, texture and hydration, then explains which treatment fits your goal and confirms the price.
- Numbing. Topical numbing cream is applied for about 30–40 minutes.
- Preparation. Juvelook is mixed and allowed to hydrate fully, which matters for smooth results. Skinvive comes ready to use.
- Injection. Small amounts are placed across the treatment area in many points.
- Soothing and aftercare. A calming mask or cooling, then written English aftercare.
Results timeline: Juvelook vs Skinvive
Knowing what to expect week by week helps you judge whether a treatment is working, especially once you are back home.
- Days 0–3: both leave small bumps and some redness. Juvelook may look a little fuller from swelling and its HA component.
- Weeks 1–2: Skinvive's hydration and glow become visible as bumps settle. Juvelook's early fullness fades, which can feel like the result has gone; this is expected.
- Months 1–3: Juvelook's collagen response builds, and pores, texture and shallow scars gradually refine. Skinvive holds its hydration effect.
- Around 6 months: Skinvive is often ready for a repeat. Juvelook's improvement after a full series commonly continues for a year or more.
Photos in the same light at baseline, one month and three months are the fairest way to compare. See the Skinvive results timeline for more detail.
Risks and side effects
Both treatments are generally well tolerated in experienced hands. Common, temporary effects are redness, small raised bumps at injection points, mild swelling and occasional bruising.
- Juvelook: the main specific risk is small nodules or lumps, more likely if the product is placed too superficially or not mixed properly. Read does Juvelook cause lumps.
- Skinvive: as an HA product, it shares the small risks of HA injectables, including rare vascular complications, which is why anatomy knowledge and technique matter.
- Wait if: you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection or acne flare in the area, or have had a recent procedure there.
For the first day, avoid saunas, heavy makeup, alcohol and intense exercise. Contact the clinic if redness, swelling or pain increases instead of settling.
