Botox is one of the most popular treatments for visitors to Seoul, and Korean clinics offer both Korean and imported toxins. This guide explains how it works, what results to expect, how safe it is and what it costs in 2026.
Korean Botox treatment uses botulinum toxin to relax the muscles that cause expression lines, slim a square jaw or soften bulky shoulder muscles. In Korea, Botox is used as a general word for any toxin, including Korean brands such as Botulax, Nabota and Coretox, as well as Xeomin and Allergan Botox. Treatment takes 10–15 minutes with no downtime, results appear within days to two weeks and last about 3–4 months for wrinkles. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong in Seoul, wrinkle Botox starts from ₩39,000 per area with Korean toxin (KRW, excluding 10% VAT).
Prices are in Korean won, exclude 10% VAT and are confirmed by a doctor at consultation.
What is Korean Botox?
Botox is the brand name of a botulinum toxin made by Allergan in the United States. In Korea, as in many countries, people use the word Botox for any botulinum toxin treatment. Korean clinics offer several brands, including toxins made in Korea, such as Botulax, Nabota and Coretox, alongside imported Xeomin from Germany and Allergan Botox.
All of these work the same basic way: a small, precise dose temporarily blocks the signal from a nerve to a muscle, so the muscle relaxes. The brands differ in their manufacturing and formulation, and in price. Learn more in Korean Botox brands explained and on our wrinkle Botox page.
What can Botox treat?
- Forehead lines from raising the eyebrows.
- Frown lines(the 11 lines) between the brows.
- Crow's feet at the outer corners of the eyes.
- Square jaw, by relaxing the masseter muscle for a slimmer lower face. See jaw Botox.
- Bulky shoulders, by relaxing the trapezius for a longer neckline.
- Oily skin and pores, with diluted skin Botox placed just under the surface.
Botox works on lines caused by movement. Lines that remain at rest, volume loss or sagging may need other treatments. Compare in Botox vs dermal filler.
Why visitors choose Botox in Korea
- Short treatment, no downtime. Fits easily into a busy trip.
- Choice of brands. Korean toxins are widely used and generally more affordable than imported brands.
- Natural-looking style. Korean practice tends to favor softening lines rather than freezing expression.
- Easy to combine. Botox is often paired with skin boosters or lasers on the same trip.
Which Botox brand should I choose?
| Toxin | Made in | One area | Three areas |
|---|---|---|---|
| Korean toxin (such as Botulax, Nabota or Coretox) | Korea | ₩39,000 | ₩99,000 |
| Xeomin | Germany | ₩79,000 | ₩199,000 |
| Botox (Allergan) | USA | ₩99,000 | ₩259,000 |
Three areas means forehead, frown lines and crow's feet. Prices are per area at a standard dose, and your doctor confirms the total before treatment. Many people choose Korean toxin for value. Some prefer Xeomin, which has no accessory proteins, or Allergan Botox, the original brand. Your doctor can explain the differences honestly; results depend more on correct dosing and technique than on the brand alone. Is it safe? Read is Korean Botox safe?

How to get natural-looking Botox results
The biggest fear many visitors have is looking frozen or surprised. Natural results come from three things: the right dose for your muscles, precise placement and realistic goals.
- Start conservatively. For a first treatment, many doctors prefer a moderate dose and a review at two weeks, adding more if needed, rather than overtreating.
- Treat the pattern, not just the line. Forehead lines are often treated together with frown lines to keep the brows balanced.
- Keep some movement. Softening lines while keeping expression is the usual goal in Korean practice.
- Be honest about your history. Tell the doctor when you last had toxin and which brand, so the dose and interval can be planned safely.
Can Botox be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Botox is often combined with fillers, skin boosters or lasers on the same trip. Some combinations can be done on the same day, while others are better spaced out. For example, devices that heat or massage the face are often scheduled before toxin rather than right after. See can I get Botox and filler on the same day?
Is Botox safe? Side effects and risks
Botulinum toxin has been used in medicine for decades, and cosmetic doses are small. Common, temporary effects include small bumps, mild redness, tenderness, pinpoint bruising and occasionally a mild headache.
Less common effects depend on the area and dose. Toxin can affect a nearby muscle, causing a temporary drooping eyebrow or eyelid, an uneven smile or a heavy feeling in the forehead. These effects wear off as the toxin does, usually over weeks, and some can be eased with a small corrective dose or eye drops prescribed by the doctor. Allergic reactions are rare. With repeated high doses over many years, a small number of people may develop reduced response to toxin; spacing treatments sensibly and avoiding unnecessary top-ups helps lower that risk. Using genuine, properly stored products and an experienced doctor reduces risk.
For the first few hours, stay upright, avoid rubbing the treated areas and skip intense exercise, saunas and alcohol for the rest of the day. Read side effects and when to contact us.
