Where are Jamsil and Myeongdong?

Jamsil is in Songpa-gu in the southeast of Seoul, south of the Han River. It is known for Lotte World Tower, Lotte World theme park, Seokchon Lake and the Jamsil sports complex, which hosts baseball games and large concerts. Visitors often stay there when they are in Seoul for a concert or event.

Myeongdong is in Jung-gu, the historic center of the city. It is a short walk from City Hall and Namsan, a few stops from Gyeongbokgung Palace, Insadong and Dongdaemun, and two stops on Line 4 from Seoul Station, where the airport railroad (AREX) arrives from Incheon.

How do Myeongdong and Jamsil compare for accessibility?

Euljiro 1-ga and Jamsil are both on Line 2, so you can travel between them without changing trains. If your sightseeing is mostly in central Seoul, a Myeongdong clinic usually means less travel on treatment day. If you are in Jamsil for a concert, schedule treatment for a day without a big event so you are not rushing across the city.

It is also worth thinking about your departure. Myeongdong's short ride to Seoul Station makes it easy to fit an appointment in on a final morning before taking the airport railroad, although most treatments are better done a few days before you fly. From Jamsil, airport buses are convenient but road traffic can be unpredictable at peak times, so leave generous margins.

Do skin treatment options differ between Jamsil and Myeongdong?

No meaningful difference comes from the district alone. Clinics across Seoul offer Botox, fillers, skin boosters, toning lasers and ultrasound or RF lifting. Jamsil's clinics often serve local residents and office workers, while Myeongdong clinics see many international visitors, so English consultation and written aftercare may be easier to find in central Seoul. Always check that a licensed doctor consults with you.

How does pricing compare?

There is no reliable rule that one area of Seoul is cheaper. Prices vary clinic by clinic depending on the brand of toxin or filler, the number of shots or cc, the doctor's time and whether 10% VAT is included. Since January 1, 2026, the tourist VAT refund no longer applies to cosmetic procedures, so make sure every quote you compare is either before or after VAT.

Choosing a clinic: what matters more than location

What happens at a Myeongdong clinic visit?

1. Before you fly. Send photos and concerns so a doctor can suggest options and timing.
2. Consultation. In person, in English, with a skin examination and a written price.
3. Treatment. Most popular options take 10–60 minutes, plus numbing where needed.
4. Aftercare. Written instructions and a contact if anything feels unusual.

Which treatments fit a Jamsil or Myeongdong itinerary?

Your choice of treatment should follow your schedule as much as your skin. A rough guide for visitors, whichever side of the river you stay on:

• Same-day, no visible recovery. Laser toning, pico toning, Hydrafacial and LDM Water Drop leave little more than brief pinkness. These fit easily between a morning of sightseeing and an evening out.

Safety and side effects to plan for

Common effects after injections or lasers are short-lived redness, mild swelling and occasional bruising. Botox can cause a mild headache or, uncommonly, a temporary droop if it spreads to nearby muscles. Lasers can rarely cause burns or temporary darkening of pigment, especially on tanned skin. Tell the doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding, blood thinners, isotretinoin or recent procedures. A licensed doctor confirms whether each treatment is suitable for you.

Most issues after common treatments are minor and settle on their own, but you should contact the clinic promptly if you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, blistering, blanching or dusky skin after an injection, or any change in vision. Keep the clinic's contact details on your phone until you fly home, and bring your treatment record to any follow-up appointment with your own doctor.
