Seoul Station is the city's main rail and airport-train hub, and Myeongdong is just two subway stops away. Here is how to decide where a skin treatment fits best into your travel plans.
Myeongdong and Seoul Station are only two stops apart on Line 4, so for most visitors the difference in convenience is small. Seoul Station suits travelers arriving or leaving by AREX or KTX, while Myeongdong offers more hotels, shopping and sightseeing within walking distance, making it easier to recover between activities. The bigger decision is choosing a doctor-led clinic and timing treatment well before your flight. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, pico toning starts from ₩69,000 and an HA skin booster from ₩99,000 for 2cc (excluding 10% VAT).
Prices are in Korean won, exclude 10% VAT and are confirmed by a doctor at consultation. Travel times are approximate.
Is Myeongdong or Seoul Station more convenient for skin treatments?
For most international visitors, the two are close enough to be treated as one area. Seoul Station and Myeongdong Station are two stops apart on Line 4, roughly five minutes by train or 15–20 minutes on foot past Namdaemun Market. Which one feels more convenient depends on where you sleep and how you are moving around Korea.
Seoul Station is a transport hub: the airport railroad (AREX) from Incheon, KTX high-speed trains to Busan and other cities, and subway Lines 1 and 4 all meet here. The area around it is mostly offices, hotels and the station complex. Myeongdong, by contrast, is a shopping and hotel district with K-beauty stores, cafes and street food, and it is close to Namsan, City Hall and the palaces. It is a more comfortable place to spend the hours after a treatment, with your hotel often just a few minutes away.
How do the two areas compare for visitors?

| Airport link | Two stops to AREX at Seoul Station; airport buses | AREX direct to Incheon and Gimpo |
| Intercity trains | Short ride to Seoul Station | KTX and other trains on site |
| Hotels nearby | Many, at every budget | Several, mostly business-style |
| After-treatment comfort | Cafes, shops and your hotel nearby | Station concourse, Seoullo 7017 skywalk |

Why location matters less than timing
Many visitors think about booking a clinic close to the station so they can have treatment on the way to the airport. That is usually a mistake, not because of distance but because of timing. Swelling, redness or bruising tends to be most noticeable in the first day or two, and if anything unexpected happens you want to be able to return to the clinic. Most doctors prefer injections and stronger lasers at least two to three days before departure.
A better plan is to stay in or near Myeongdong for a few nights, schedule treatment early in your trip, and use Seoul Station simply as your gateway. Read plan treatments around your Seoul itinerary for sample timelines.

Sample timelines: when to book around Seoul Station travel
How you use Seoul Station shapes the best day for treatment. Here are three common patterns we see from international visitors:
- Arriving by AREX, staying five or more nights. Rest on arrival day, then book a consultation and treatment for day two. Injections or boosters on day two leave plenty of time for any bumps or bruising to settle before you leave.
- Taking a KTX day trip to Busan or Gyeongju. Avoid treatments with visible downtime the day before a long day of walking in the sun. Schedule them after you return, or choose a gentle toning session instead.
- Short stopover of two or three nights. Focus on single-session, low-downtime options such as pico toning, Hydrafacial or ultrasound lifting, and book on your first full day.
Whichever pattern fits you, tell the doctor your exact flight time at consultation. It changes what they recommend, how strong the settings are and which aftercare products you should carry. See how long to stay in Seoul for treatment.

Is it safe? Side effects and when to be careful
Low-downtime treatments are popular for good reason, but every procedure carries some risk. Lasers can cause temporary redness, dryness or, rarely, burns and pigment changes, particularly on tanned skin. Injections can cause swelling, bruising and tenderness, and fillers carry a rare but serious risk of vascular occlusion, which needs urgent care. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin infections and some medicines may mean postponing. A licensed doctor should confirm that a treatment is suitable before you go ahead, and you should know how to reach the clinic after you leave.
Flying itself does not usually harm results from toning lasers or ultrasound lifting, but dry cabin air can make freshly treated skin feel tight. Carry a gentle moisturizer and sunscreen in your hand luggage, avoid pressing your face against a travel pillow after injections, and drink plenty of water.
Planning your treatment around arrival and departure
- Book ahead. Send your arrival and departure dates through our consultation form.
- Avoid your arrival day. After a long flight, skin is often dehydrated and you may be delayed at immigration.
- From Seoul Station. Take Line 4 two stops toward Danggogae to Myeongdong Station, or walk via Namdaemun. Dernia is also near Euljiro 1-ga Station (Line 2). See location and directions.
- Arriving from Incheon. Our Incheon Airport to Myeongdong guide covers AREX, buses and taxis.
- Leave buffer days. Keep two to three days between injections or stronger lasers and your flight home.
