Quick answer

Skin boosters can soften fine lines and improve crepey, thinning skin by adding hydration and supporting collagen and skin thickness. Hyaluronic acid boosters such as Profhilo and Skinvive improve hydration and smoothness, polynucleotide boosters such as Rejuran Healer and Rejuran Eye support repair in thin skin, and collagen stimulators such as Juvelook build firmness over months. Expression lines may also need Botox. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong in Seoul, Rejuran Eye starts from ₩189,000 and Profhilo from ₩390,000 (KRW, excluding 10% VAT).

What causes fine lines and crepey skin?

Fine lines and crepey skin are early signs of changes in the skin's structure. With age, sun exposure and dehydration, the skin produces less collagen and elastin and holds less water. It becomes thinner and loses some of its spring, so it creases more easily and looks crinkled, like crepe paper, especially when you move or smile.

Crepey skin is common under the eyes, on the cheeks, on the neck, on the décolletage and on the backs of the hands. It is different from deep wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movement, and from sagging caused by loss of support deeper in the face. See crepey, thinning skin and fine lines.

Can skin boosters help fine lines and crepey skin?

Yes, this is one of the areas where boosters work best. Because the problem is in the quality of the skin itself, improving hydration, thickness and collagen can make a visible difference. Boosters do not freeze muscles or lift tissue, so the result looks natural: skin that is smoother, better hydrated and less crinkled.

The limits are clear, though. Boosters will not remove deep expression lines, correct heavy sagging or replace lost volume. Those concerns need other approaches, often in combination. Starting boosters at this early stage is also a common preventive strategy in Korea, where many people prefer to maintain skin quality gradually rather than wait for larger changes.

Which skin boosters work best for fine lines?

Booster Best for Sessions Price from (KRW)
Rejuran Eye (Rejuran I) Crepey under-eye skin and fine lines 2–3 ₩189,000 (1cc)
Rejuran Healer Thin, fragile skin across the face 3 ₩259,000 (2cc)
Skinvive Fine roughness and smoothness on the cheeks Usually 1 ₩290,000 (1 syringe)
Profhilo Crepey skin on the face and neck 2 ₩390,000 (2ml)
Juvelook Fine lines with loss of firmness 2–3 ₩299,000 (2cc)
HA skin booster Dryness lines from dehydration Often 3 ₩99,000 (2cc)

Polynucleotide boosters for thin skin

Rejuran Healer and Rejuran Eye contain polynucleotides, purified DNA fragments from salmon, that are thought to support skin repair and thickness. They are a common choice for thin, crepey skin, especially around the eyes, where heavier products are less suitable. Learn more on our Rejuran Eye page.

Hyaluronic acid boosters for hydration

Profhilo uses high-concentration stabilized HA that spreads through the skin and is popular for crepey skin on the neck and face. Skinvive uses microdroplets of HA for smoothness on the cheeks. Both improve hydration, which softens fine lines. See Profhilo.

Collagen stimulators for firmness

Juvelook combines PDLLA and HA to stimulate new collagen gradually, improving firmness and fine lines over two to three months.

Boosters vs Botox vs lasers: which do you need?

  • Static fine lines visible at rest from dryness or thinning: boosters are a good fit.
  • Dynamic lines that appear with expression, such as crow's feet and forehead lines: Botox relaxes the muscle; a booster can improve the skin over them.
  • Texture-related lines with sun damage: lasers such as pico fractional may help remodel the surface.
  • Lines with sagging: lifting devices may be needed alongside boosters.

See crow's feet and Botox vs dermal filler to understand the options.

Which areas respond best?

Crepey skin behaves differently in each area, so doctors adjust product choice and technique:

  • Under the eyes: the thinnest skin on the face, where finer products such as Rejuran Eye are preferred and placement must be precise.
  • Cheeks: fine lines often relate to dehydration and loss of firmness, so HA boosters, Skinvive or Juvelook are common choices.
  • Neck: horizontal lines and crepey texture often respond to Profhilo or Rejuran Healer, sometimes combined with lifting devices.
  • Hands and décolletage: spreading HA products can improve crepey texture, with sun protection essential afterward.

Who is a good candidate?

Usually a good fit

  • Fine lines visible at rest, from dryness or thinning
  • Crepey skin under the eyes, on the cheeks or neck
  • People who want a natural, non-frozen result
  • Those able to plan a short series of sessions

Talk to the doctor first

  • Deep wrinkles or significant sagging
  • Fish allergy, for polynucleotide products
  • Active skin infection or acne in the area
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

What happens on treatment day

  1. English consultation. A licensed doctor examines your skin at rest and in motion to separate fine lines from expression lines and laxity.
  2. Numbing. Numbing cream is applied for about 20–30 minutes.
  3. Injection. Small amounts are placed in the target areas with a fine needle, cannula or device.
  4. Soothing. Cooling or a calming mask settles redness before you leave.

Results timeline and recovery

Small bumps and mild redness usually settle within 1–3 days. Hydration-based boosters show smoother skin within one to two weeks. Polynucleotide boosters and collagen stimulators improve skin gradually over several weeks to months, with the best results after a full series. See Profhilo results.

For a day or two, avoid saunas, hot baths, intense exercise and alcohol. Wait until the next day for makeup, pause retinol and acids for a few days, and protect your skin from the sun every day, because UV is a major cause of crepey skin.

Is it safe? Risks and side effects

Skin boosters are generally well tolerated. Common, temporary effects include bumps, redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising, especially around the thin skin of the eyes. Less common are lumps that take longer to settle, and nodules with collagen stimulators. Infection and allergic reactions are rare. Anyone with a fish allergy should tell the doctor before a polynucleotide booster.

A licensed doctor should confirm that a booster is the right choice and place it carefully, particularly near the eyes. Read side effects and when to contact us.

Planning a booster around your Seoul trip

  • Getting here. Dernia is in Myeongdong, near Myeongdong Station (Line 4) and Euljiro 1-ga Station (Line 2).

Frequently asked questions

Do skin boosters work on crepey skin?

Yes. Crepey skin is a skin-quality problem, so boosters that improve hydration, thickness and collagen are often a good fit.

What is the best booster for crepey under-eye skin?

Rejuran Eye is commonly used because its finer formula suits thin under-eye skin. Your doctor will confirm whether it fits your concern.

Can skin boosters replace Botox for fine lines?

Not for expression lines. Botox relaxes the muscles that cause dynamic lines, while boosters improve skin quality. Many people benefit from both.

How many booster sessions do I need for fine lines?

It depends on the product: Skinvive is usually one session, Profhilo two and Rejuran or Juvelook two to three.

Can boosters help crepey neck skin?

Yes. Profhilo and Rejuran Healer are often used on the neck to improve hydration and texture.

How much is Rejuran Eye at Dernia?

Rejuran Eye starts from ₩189,000 for 1cc covering both under-eyes, excluding 10% VAT.
