How crow's feet Botox works, what a natural result looks like, how long it lasts and how to plan it around a trip to Seoul.
Crow's feet Botox relaxes the outer part of the orbicularis oculi, the ring-shaped muscle around the eye, so the fan of lines that forms when you smile or squint becomes softer. Treatment takes about 10 minutes, there is no real downtime, results start in 3–7 days and usually last three to four months. A light dose keeps your smile natural. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong in Seoul, wrinkle Botox starts from ₩39,000 per area with a Korean toxin (KRW, excluding 10% VAT).
Prices are in Korean won, exclude 10% VAT and are confirmed by a doctor at consultation.
What is crow's feet Botox?
Crow's feet are the fine lines that fan out from the outer corners of your eyes. They come from the orbicularis oculi, a circular muscle that closes the eye and tightens when you smile, laugh or squint into the sun. Thin skin, sun exposure and the natural loss of collagen with age make these lines show earlier than lines elsewhere on the face.
Crow's feet Botox places a few small doses of botulinum toxin into the outer part of that muscle. The toxin temporarily reduces the nerve signal that makes the muscle contract, so it squeezes the skin less strongly and the lines soften. The eye still closes normally because only the outer fibers are treated. You can read more on our wrinkle Botox treatment page and the crow's feet concern page.
Benefits of crow's feet Botox
- Softer smile lines. The fan of creases that appears when you smile becomes lighter, which tends to make the eye area look more rested.
- Smoother makeup. Concealer is less likely to settle into fine lines at the corners of the eyes.
- Quick and predictable. The procedure takes minutes, and results follow a fairly consistent timeline.
- Easy to combine. It is often done with forehead and frown line Botox as a three-area treatment, or alongside a skin booster for crepey under-eye skin.
- Prevention. Relaxing the muscle regularly may slow the deepening of lines over time, although it does not stop aging.
How do you get natural-looking results?
The biggest worry most people have is looking frozen or losing the warmth of their smile. In the eye area, natural results come down to three choices your doctor makes.
1. Dose
A lighter dose softens lines while leaving some crinkle when you laugh. Many visitors prefer this look, and it is easy to add a little more at a review if needed.
2. Placement
Injections are placed at a safe distance from the eye and the cheek. If toxin is placed too low, it can affect the muscles that lift the upper lip and change your smile.
3. Treating the right lines
Some lines under the eye come from cheek movement or skin quality, not from the orbicularis oculi. Botox alone will not fix those. Your doctor may suggest Rejuran Eye or a skin booster for texture instead.
It helps to bring a photo of a result you like, or one you did not like from a previous treatment. Telling the doctor whether you want lines nearly gone or simply softer makes it much easier to match the dose to your expectations. If you are unsure, starting light and reviewing at two weeks is the safer route.

What happens on treatment day
- Consultation in English. The doctor asks you to smile and squint, checks skin quality under the eye and agrees the brand, dose and price.
- Cleansing. Makeup is removed from the eye area.
- Injection. Two to four tiny injections are placed on each side. It feels like quick pinches.
- Pressure and cooling. Gentle pressure reduces the chance of a small bruise.
- Aftercare. You leave with written aftercare instructions in English and can return to sightseeing.
Crow's feet Botox results timeline
| When | What you may notice |
|---|---|
| Day 0 | Tiny bumps that flatten within minutes; a small bruise is possible |
| Days 3–7 | Smile lines begin to soften |
| Week 2 | Full effect; good time for a review or small top-up |
| Months 2–3 | Gradual return of movement |
| Months 3–4 | Most of the effect has faded |
These are typical ranges. The eye area is a small, active muscle, so some people find results fade a little sooner than on the forehead. See the Botox results page for what to expect over several treatments.
Is crow's feet Botox safe? Side effects
In trained hands, crow's feet Botox is one of the most routine cosmetic injections. Side effects are usually mild.
- Common: small bruises, mild swelling or tenderness for a day or two.
- Less common: a slightly uneven smile or lines that move to a new spot, often corrected with a small adjustment.
- Uncommon: temporary dry eye, difficulty fully closing the eye or a change in smile if toxin spreads to nearby muscles. These usually resolve as the toxin wears off.
- Rare: allergic reaction or spread beyond the treated area. Seek medical help for any vision, swallowing or breathing problems.

Frequently asked questions
Will crow's feet Botox change my smile?
With a conservative dose and correct placement, your smile should look natural. If toxin is placed too low it can affect the muscles that lift the lip, which is why a doctor-led assessment matters.
How long does crow's feet Botox last?
Usually about three to four months. Some people find the eye area fades slightly sooner than the forehead.
Does it treat lines under the eyes?
Only partly. Lines under the eye often come from thin skin or cheek movement, so a skin booster such as Rejuran Eye may help more than Botox.
How much is crow's feet Botox in Seoul?
At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, one area starts from ₩39,000 with a Korean toxin, or ₩99,000 for forehead, frown lines and crow's feet together, excluding 10% VAT.
Can I wear eye makeup after Botox?
Yes, after a few hours. Apply it gently without pressing hard on the injection points.
Is there any downtime?
