Rejuran Healer vs PDRN Injections: What Is the Difference? — Myeongdong, Seoul
Rejuran Healer vs PDRN Injections: What Is the Difference? — a guide for visitors in Myeongdong, Seoul.
Quick answer

Rejuran Healer and PDRN injections both use DNA fragments, usually derived from salmon, but they are not identical. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) uses shorter fragments in a thinner solution; Rejuran uses polynucleotides (PN), which are longer chains that form a slightly thicker gel and stay in the skin longer. Both aim to support repair and skin quality over a series of sessions. Dernia Clinic Myeongdong does not currently offer standalone PDRN injections; it offers Rejuran Healer from ₩259,000 for 2cc, excluding 10% VAT.

What is the difference between Rejuran Healer and PDRN?

The short answer: they come from the same family of ingredients but differ in molecule length, texture and how long they remain in the skin.

  • PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is made of relatively short DNA fragments. It has been used in medicine in some countries for wound healing, and in aesthetics it is injected as a thin, water-like solution to support skin repair.
  • PN (polynucleotide) is made of longer chains of the same building blocks. Rejuran Healer, from Pharma Research in Korea, is a PN product. The longer chains create a slightly more viscous gel, which is thought to give a longer-lasting scaffold effect in the skin.

In everyday Korean clinic language, people sometimes use PDRN, PN and Rejuran almost interchangeably. When you compare options, it helps to ask exactly which product and which ingredient is being used. See our is Rejuran made from salmon page for more on the source.

How does Rejuran Healer work?

Rejuran Healer is injected in many small points across the face, usually after numbing cream. The PN is associated with supporting the skin's natural repair environment. Over a series of sessions, people commonly notice:

  • Calmer, less reactive skin
  • Better elasticity and a thicker, bouncier feel
  • Smoother texture and softer fine lines
  • Help with shallow scars and enlarged pores when extra product is placed there

The standard plan is three sessions two to four weeks apart, followed by maintenance about every six months. Details are on our Rejuran Healer treatment page.

How do PDRN injections work?

PDRN injections are delivered in a similar way, either by hand injection or with microneedling devices that push the solution into the skin. Because the solution is thinner, it spreads easily and is often used for overall skin quality, post-procedure recovery and a fresh, hydrated look.

Products and concentrations vary widely between brands, which makes general claims difficult. As with PN, PDRN is usually given as a series rather than a one-off treatment.

Dernia does not currently offer standalone PDRN injections. If you are interested in a DNA-based booster, Rejuran Healer is the option available at our Myeongdong clinic, and your doctor can explain whether it suits your goals.

Who is a good candidate for a DNA-based booster?

Usually a good fit

  • Thin, sensitive or easily irritated skin
  • Tired-looking skin with early fine lines
  • Uneven texture, enlarged pores or shallow scars
  • People recovering skin quality after lasers

Talk to the doctor first

  • Fish or salmon allergy
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active infection, acne flare or eczema in the area
  • Autoimmune conditions or blood-thinning medication

If your main concern is sagging rather than skin quality, a booster alone will not lift. Our skin boosters explained guide shows where boosters fit compared with lifting devices and fillers.

What happens during a Rejuran Healer session at Dernia

  1. Consultation in English. A licensed doctor checks your skin, allergies and medications, and explains the plan and price.
  2. Numbing. Topical numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes.
  3. Injection. Small amounts are placed across the face, with extra on scars or pores if needed.
  4. Soothing. Cooling or a calming mask settles redness.
  5. Aftercare. Written English instructions and a contact point for questions.

Rejuran is known for stinging more than many other boosters. Read does Rejuran hurt for what to expect.

Rejuran results timeline: what to expect

DNA-based boosters do not give an instant transformation. They work quietly, and the benefit builds as the series progresses. A typical pattern for Rejuran Healer looks like this:

  • Days 0–3: small bumps and redness at injection points, which flatten within one to three days. Skin may feel slightly tender.
  • Weeks 1–2: many people say their skin feels calmer and more hydrated, and makeup sits more smoothly.
  • After session 2: elasticity and texture usually become more noticeable.
  • After session 3: the fullest effect, maintained with a top-up about every six months.

These are typical experiences, not guarantees, and they vary with age, skin type, lifestyle and sun exposure. Daily sunscreen and a gentle routine help protect the result. For more detail, see the Rejuran Healer results timeline.

One more practical point for comparing clinics: because PN and PDRN products differ in concentration and volume, a lower price for a DNA booster does not always mean the same treatment. Ask how many cc you will receive, the exact product name, and whether the doctor injects by hand or uses a device. A clear, itemized answer is a good sign of a trustworthy clinic.

Risks and side effects to know

DNA-based boosters are generally well tolerated when performed by trained doctors. Expected effects include redness, small raised bumps that flatten over one to three days, mild swelling and occasional bruising. Less commonly, people may develop longer-lasting lumps, infection or allergic-type reactions. Because the source is fish-derived, anyone with a relevant allergy should say so before treatment.

Avoid heavy makeup, saunas and intense exercise for the first day, and keep the skin clean. If anything worsens rather than improves, contact the clinic.

How much does Rejuran Healer cost in Seoul (2026)?

Plan Typical coverage Price (KRW)
2cc Full face, standard coverage ₩259,000
3cc Full face with extra on cheeks, pores or scars ₩359,000
4cc Full face and neck ₩469,000

Prices are per session and exclude 10% VAT. The tourist VAT refund on cosmetic procedures ended on January 1, 2026 — see VAT refund in 2026. Full details on the Rejuran Healer price page.

PDRN pricing elsewhere depends on the brand, volume and whether a device is used for delivery. Because Dernia does not offer it, we do not quote a PDRN price. If you see a quote for a DNA booster, check the product name, the amount in cc and whether it is PN or PDRN before comparing.

Planning Rejuran around your Seoul trip

  • Short trip: one Rejuran session still helps; plan the remaining sessions on a later visit or with a doctor at home.
  • Longer stay: three sessions two to four weeks apart fit a four- to eight-week stay.
  • Not on arrival day: leave a buffer for delays and give bumps time to settle before photos.
  • Getting here: Dernia is in Myeongdong, near Myeongdong Station (Line 4) and Euljiro 1-ga Station (Line 2). See location and directions.
  • Book ahead through our consultation form.

Flying home? Most people can fly the day after Rejuran. Keep skin hydrated in the cabin and avoid pressing on injection points. See flying after Botox, fillers and boosters.

Frequently asked questions

Is Rejuran the same as PDRN?

Not exactly. Both use DNA fragments, usually from salmon, but Rejuran Healer uses polynucleotides (PN), which are longer chains than PDRN and form a slightly thicker gel.

Does Dernia offer PDRN injections?

Dernia does not currently offer standalone PDRN injections. Rejuran Healer is available, and your doctor can discuss whether it suits your goals.

Which lasts longer, PN or PDRN?

PN is generally thought to remain in the skin longer because of its longer chains, but results depend on the product, your skin and the number of sessions.

How many Rejuran sessions do I need?

The usual plan is three sessions two to four weeks apart, then maintenance about every six months.

Can I have Rejuran if I am allergic to fish?

Tell your doctor before treatment. Because the ingredient is salmon-derived, a relevant allergy may make it unsuitable.

How much is Rejuran Healer at Dernia?

From ₩259,000 for 2cc covering the full face, excluding 10% VAT.
