Large Pore Treatment in Seoul

Quick answer: Large pores cannot be erased, but they can look noticeably smaller when oil, congestion and collagen loss are treated. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, skin Botox from ₩129,000 reduces oil, Potenza RF microneedling from ₩299,000 and fractional lasers remodel collagen, and Juvelook or Rejuran Healer strengthen the skin around pores. Most plans combine two approaches over a few sessions.

What causes large pores?

Pores are the openings of hair follicles and oil glands, and everyone has them. They look larger when oil production is high, when they fill with dead cells and sebum, or when the collagen around them weakens and lets them stretch. Genetics, hormones, heat and humidity all raise oil output. With age and sun damage, cheek pores often turn oval or teardrop-shaped. Past acne can also leave enlarged, scar-like pores. Heavy, pore-clogging products and over-cleansing, which can trigger more oil, make pores look larger too.

How pores are assessed

At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, your doctor looks at where your pores are and their shape, because each type responds to something different:

  • Oily, round pores: usually on the nose and T-zone; respond to oil control
  • Stretched, oval pores: on the cheeks; respond to collagen building
  • Scar-like pores: after acne; respond to resurfacing, see acne scars

Treatment options for large pores

Skin Botox

Skin Botox places diluted toxin just under the surface to reduce oil and refine the look of pores. It is chosen for oily, shiny skin.

Potenza RF Microneedling

Potenza combines microneedling with radiofrequency to remodel collagen around pores. It is chosen for stretched or scar-like pores, usually over three sessions.

Pico Fractional

Pico fractional creates tiny zones of collagen renewal with little surface injury. It suits moderate pores and fine texture with 1–3 days of redness.

CO2 Fractional Laser

The CO2 fractional laser resurfaces more deeply. It is chosen for pores with significant scarring when you can allow 5–7 days of downtime.

Juvelook

Juvelook combines PDLLA and hyaluronic acid to stimulate collagen and refine texture. It is chosen for stretched cheek pores and builds over 2–3 months.

Rejuran Healer

Rejuran Healer strengthens and repairs thin skin around pores. It is chosen when pores come with sensitivity, or after laser.

Oligio X

Oligio X is monopolar RF that tightens skin. It is chosen when pores look larger because cheek skin is losing firmness.

Laser Toning

Laser toning gently reduces oiliness and brightens with no downtime. It suits regular, budget-friendly maintenance.

Acne Clinic Program

The Acne Clinic Program clears congestion with medical extraction, a calming peel and LED. It is chosen when blackheads and breakouts stretch pores.

Hydrafacial & Aqua Peel

A Hydrafacial deep-cleans and hydrates pores for an instant refresh. It is chosen before an event or between other treatments.

Combination plans

Oily pores often respond best to skin Botox plus a facial, while stretched pores need collagen building, as in our Collagen Rebuild package with Juvelook and Potenza. Compare resurfacing options in CO2 laser vs Potenza.

At-home care and prevention

Use a salicylic acid (BHA) cleanser or toner, a retinoid at night if tolerated, and an oil-free sunscreen. A clay mask once a week can help absorb oil. Avoid squeezing pores, which stretches them and can scar.

Planning treatment during a trip to Seoul

Skin Botox, toning and facials have little or no downtime. Potenza and fractional lasers cause redness for days, so book them early and skip saunas and heavy makeup for a day afterward. If you take isotretinoin, needling and laser are usually postponed. Book a consultation to plan around your trip.

When to see a doctor

Persistent bumps that are not pores, thickened skin on the nose, or ongoing breakouts may be sebaceous hyperplasia, rosacea or acne that needs medical treatment. See acne if breakouts are the main issue.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from our medical team. Still unsure? Ask a doctor or browse all patient questions .

Can large pores be made smaller?

They can look noticeably smaller, but pores never disappear completely. Reducing oil, clearing congestion and rebuilding collagen around them gives the most visible change.

What is the best treatment for oily pores?

Skin Botox is a popular choice because it reduces oil production for about 2–3 months. A Hydrafacial and a BHA cleanser help keep pores clear between sessions.

How many sessions will I need?

Collagen treatments such as Potenza usually need about three sessions a month or so apart. Skin Botox is repeated every few months to maintain the effect.

Does skin Botox for pores hurt?

You feel many tiny pricks across the face. Numbing cream is usually applied first, and the treatment takes about 20–30 minutes.

Will my pores get bigger again?

Over time, aging and oil production continue. Good skincare, sun protection and occasional maintenance treatments help keep pores looking refined.
