Payment, Prices and VAT for Skin Treatments in Seoul
Clear pricing matters when you are planning treatment around a trip. Here is how prices work at Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, how Korea's 10% VAT is applied, how you can pay, and what changed for foreign visitors in 2026.
In short: Prices at Dernia Clinic Myeongdong are listed in Korean won (KRW) as "from" prices and exclude 10% VAT, which is added when you pay. Your doctor confirms your plan and its price in writing after the consultation, before any treatment begins. Major international credit cards are widely accepted in Korea; confirm when you book. The VAT refund on cosmetic procedures for foreigners ended on January 1, 2026.

Pricing
How pricing works at Dernia
Every price on this website is a starting point, so you can plan a realistic budget before you fly. Your final price is set after a doctor has assessed your skin and agreed a plan with you.
- Prices are in Korean won (KRW). If you pay with a card issued abroad, your bank converts the amount. The exchange rate and any foreign transaction fee are set by your card issuer, so check them before you travel.
- Listed prices are "from" prices. Each one is the lowest option for that treatment, usually the smallest area, dose or shot count. For example, Botox in Seoul starts from ₩39,000 for one area with a Korean toxin, Rejuran Healer from ₩259,000 for 2cc, and Thermage FLX from ₩990,000 for 300 shots on the face.
- 10% VAT is excluded and added at payment. Cosmetic treatments in Korea carry 10% VAT. A treatment listed at ₩200,000 costs ₩220,000 once VAT is added.
- Your price is confirmed in writing before treatment. After your consultation you receive your plan and its itemized price in writing. Nothing is performed until you have seen it and agreed to it.
Why your final price can differ from the "from" price
Your doctor may recommend more shots or lines for a stronger lift, a second treatment area, a different product, or a combination of treatments that work better together. Your quote reflects exactly what was recommended, and you can always choose a smaller plan or take time to decide. To compare options, browse our full price list or see how treatment packages bundle common combinations.
Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation.

Booking
Deposits and cancellations
Booking ahead is recommended, especially if you only have a few days in Seoul. Our short answer to do I need to book in advance? explains why.
Whether a deposit is needed to hold your appointment, how it is applied to your final bill, and how rescheduling and cancellations work will be confirmed in writing when you book, before you pay anything.

Paying
How to pay
- Cards: Major international credit cards are widely accepted in Korea. Please confirm which cards we accept when you book.
- Other methods: If you would like to pay another way, ask when you book and we will confirm what is possible.
- Currency: You are charged in KRW. If a card terminal offers to charge you in your home currency instead, its conversion rate may be less favorable than your bank's, so check with your card issuer before you travel.
- Before you fly: Let your bank know you will be in Korea so a larger overseas payment is not declined.
- Receipts: Ask for an itemized receipt at payment if you need one for your records.
Tax
The VAT refund on cosmetic procedures ended on January 1, 2026
Until the end of 2025, foreign visitors could claim back the VAT on many cosmetic procedures in Korea. That refund ended on January 1, 2026. Cosmetic and aesthetic treatments now carry 10% VAT for foreign patients, and that VAT is not refunded at the clinic or at the airport.
- What this means for your budget: plan for 10% on top of the listed treatment price.
- General shopping tax refunds still exist and are separate. Skincare and other goods bought at participating tax-free stores follow the usual tourist shopping refund rules, so ask the store how its refund works.
- Older articles may be out of date. Blogs and guides written before 2026 may still describe the treatment refund as available.

Pricing units
Understanding Korean pricing: shots, lines, cc and units
Korean clinics price many treatments by the amount used rather than by the session. Knowing the unit helps you compare quotes fairly: check that you are comparing the same device or product, the same number of shots, lines or cc, and whether VAT is included. Our guide to shots, lines and cc explains each unit in depth, and our checklist for choosing a skin clinic in Seoul covers what else to compare.
Shots
Energy-based lifting devices are priced by the number of shots, or pulses, delivered. Shurink Universe starts from ₩149,000 for 300 shots, and Thermage FLX from ₩990,000 for 300 shots on the face.
Lines
Ulthera is priced by lines, each one a single pass of focused ultrasound. More lines usually means more coverage. Ulthera Prime starts from ₩390,000 for 100 lines.
cc, syringes and units
Fillers and skin boosters are priced by volume in cc or by syringe, and toxins by area or units. Dermal filler starts from ₩150,000 for 1cc of Korean HA, and Rejuran Healer from ₩259,000 for 2cc.

All prices are in Korean won (KRW). If you pay with a card issued outside Korea, your bank converts the charge at its own rate and may add a foreign transaction fee. See what currency are prices in, and is VAT included?
Is VAT included in the prices on your website?
No. Listed prices exclude Korea's 10% VAT, which is added when you pay. A treatment listed at ₩100,000 costs ₩110,000 including VAT.
Can foreigners get a VAT refund on cosmetic treatments in Korea?
Not anymore. The VAT refund on cosmetic procedures for foreign patients ended on January 1, 2026, so the VAT you pay on treatment is not refundable. General shopping tax refunds are separate and still exist. Read our 2026 VAT guide for details.
Will I pay more than the "from" price?

Do you take a deposit, and what is your cancellation policy?
Any deposit requirement, and the rescheduling and cancellation terms for your appointment, are confirmed in writing when you book, before you pay anything. If your plans change, contact us as early as you can.
