What currency are prices in, and is VAT included?
Quick answer: Prices at Dernia Clinic Myeongdong are in Korean won (KRW) and exclude 10% VAT, which is added when you pay. For example, a treatment listed at ₩100,000 costs ₩110,000 in total. Since January 1, 2026, foreign visitors can no longer claim a VAT refund on cosmetic procedures in Korea, so the VAT-inclusive figure is your real cost. Your doctor confirms the final price at consultation.
- Currency: Korean won (KRW, ₩)
- VAT: 10%, not included in listed prices
- Example: ₩100,000 listed = ₩110,000 total

The detailed answer
Every price on this website is shown in Korean won and excludes value-added tax. Cosmetic and aesthetic treatments in Korea carry 10% VAT, so the amount you pay is the listed price plus 10%. Showing prices before VAT is common on Korean clinic price lists, which is why a treatment can look cheaper online than at the payment desk.
| Treatment | Listed from | With 10% VAT |
|---|---|---|
| Wrinkle Botox(1 area, Korean toxin) | ₩39,000 | ₩42,900 |
| Pico toning(full face) | ₩69,000 | ₩75,900 |
| Rejuran Healer(2cc) | ₩259,000 | ₩284,900 |
| Thermage FLX(300 shots) | ₩990,000 | ₩1,089,000 |
Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation.
No VAT refund on treatments since 2026
Until the end of 2025, foreign patients could reclaim VAT on eligible cosmetic procedures. That scheme ended on January 1, 2026, so the 10% VAT is now part of your cost. General tax-free shopping refunds still exist for eligible goods, such as cosmetics bought at participating stores, but they are separate from clinic treatments. Read the full 2026 VAT refund update.
Paying in won
If you pay by card, you may be offered the choice of paying in your home currency. Choosing won usually avoids the extra markup that dynamic currency conversion adds; your card issuer then converts at its own rate. Check your card's foreign transaction fees before you travel. Accepted payment methods are listed on our payment and tax page.
What we recommend
When comparing clinics, check whether each price includes VAT, which product or brand is used, and how many shots, lines or cc you receive. Our guide to shots, lines and cc helps you compare like for like. Ask what a quoted price covers, such as numbing cream or soothing care after treatment, and whether any follow-up visit is charged separately. When budgeting, add 10% to any listed price and allow a small buffer for exchange-rate movements, since your card converts at the rate on the day the payment is processed. Browse the full price list, then book a consultation for a confirmed, itemized quote.
