InMode Forma & Mini FX Review: Is It Worth It?

Quick answer: InMode Forma and Mini FX are worth it if you want comfortable, no-downtime radiofrequency contouring for mild fullness under the chin and a softening jawline, and you can commit to a series. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong treatment starts from ₩129,000 per session for one area (KRW, excluding VAT). One session alone gives a subtle change.

  • Our verdict: Pleasant and useful for mild contour issues, but a series is needed for a clear change
  • Best for: Mild double chin, early jowls and puffiness along the jawline

  • Comfort: Very comfortable; feels like a warm massage, with some heat from Mini FX
  • Downtime: None; occasional mild redness or tenderness
  • Value: Low cost per session, but maintenance every one to three months adds up
  • Price from: ₩129,000 (per session, one area)

Our take on InMode Forma and Mini FX

This is our medical team's honest assessment of the InMode Forma and Mini FX combination, often called InMode lifting in Korea. It is an editorial review by our doctors, not a collection of patient reviews, and it explains when we recommend it at Dernia Clinic Myeongdong and when we do not. InMode Forma and Mini FX are two radiofrequency handpieces from InMode. Forma glides over the skin and heats it to a controlled temperature, with built-in temperature monitoring, to tighten and refresh. Mini FX is designed for small, localized fat pockets under the chin and along the jowls. Together they give a pleasant, no-downtime contour treatment. In our view, the key point is that it works best as a series; a single session gives only a subtle change.

Pros

  • Comfortable. Forma feels like a warm facial massage, which makes it one of the easiest energy treatments to tolerate.
  • No downtime. You can go straight back to sightseeing or work.
  • Immediate freshness. Many people notice a tighter, brighter look the same day from the heating, though this settles.
  • Targets small fat pockets. Mini FX addresses mild fullness that skin tightening alone cannot.
  • Low cost per session. It is an affordable way to maintain definition between bigger treatments.

Cons

  • Needs a series. A visible change usually takes several sessions a few weeks apart, which is difficult on a short trip.
  • Subtle per session. One session alone rarely changes the profile noticeably.
  • Regular maintenance. Many people repeat it every one to three months, so yearly costs add up.
  • Limited for larger fat. More significant fullness under the chin responds better to injection or other approaches.
  • Limited for marked sagging. It does not reach the deeper layers that ultrasound lifting does.

Who InMode is best for

Our doctors see the best fit in people with a mild double chin, early jowls or puffiness along the jawline, who live in or visit Seoul often enough to complete a series. It also suits anyone who dislikes needles and stronger heat, and people who want an easy maintenance treatment between annual lifting.

Who should consider something else

  • You are visiting once: a single HIFU session gives more from one visit. See Shurink Universe vs InMode.
  • Fat is the main issue: microwave contouring or a fat-dissolving injection may act more directly. See Onda Lifting vs InMode.
  • A square jaw from muscle: jaw Botox slims the masseter; RF does not.
  • Marked sagging: ultrasound or premium RF will do more.
  • Medical reasons: avoid RF with a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, metal implants in the area, pregnancy or active infection.

Comfort and what it feels like

Forma feels like a smooth, warm stone moving over the skin, building to a strong but comfortable heat. Mini FX feels warmer and more concentrated under the chin, and the area may be slightly tender or puffy for a day or two. No numbing is usually needed. A session takes about 20 to 40 minutes, and most people leave with a light flush.

Value for money

InMode at Dernia starts from ₩129,000 per session for one area; treating both the lower face and under the chin, or booking a series, costs more. See the InMode Forma and Mini FX price page. Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation. If you cannot complete a series before you fly, read what to do if you cannot finish a treatment series before booking.

Our verdict

InMode Forma and Mini FX are worth it for mild contour issues if you value comfort and can commit to several sessions. They are less worth it for a single visit, for larger fat deposits or for real sagging. Check the InMode results timeline to see how change builds over a series, then book a consultation and your doctor will suggest a plan that fits the time you have in Seoul.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from our medical team. Still unsure? Ask a doctor or browse all patient questions .

Is InMode lifting worth it?

It is worth it for mild fullness under the chin and a softening jawline, especially if you can complete a series. A single session gives only a subtle change, so it is less suited to one-off visits.

How many InMode sessions do I need?

Most people need several sessions a few weeks apart for a visible change, then maintenance every one to three months. Your doctor will suggest a schedule based on your goals and travel dates.

Does InMode hurt?

Forma usually feels like a warm massage. Mini FX feels hotter and more concentrated, and the area may be tender for a day or two. Numbing is rarely needed.

Is InMode better than Shurink?

They do different jobs. InMode is comfortable RF contouring best done as a series, while Shurink is HIFU that works on deeper layers in one session. Your doctor may combine them depending on your face.

Who should not have InMode?

Avoid it if you have a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, metal implants in the treatment area, an active skin infection, or are pregnant. Your doctor confirms suitability at consultation.
