Our take on Juvelook

This is our medical team's honest assessment of Juvelook, the PDLLA and hyaluronic acid skin booster made by the Korean company Vaim Global. It is an editorial review by our doctors, not a summary of patient reviews, and it reflects how we use Juvelook at Dernia Clinic Myeongdong. The rest of our assessments are on our expert reviews page.

Juvelook combines poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA), a collagen stimulator, with hyaluronic acid for early hydration. The HA gives a mild early benefit, while the PDLLA slowly prompts your skin to build collagen over two to three months. In our view it is one of the best options for texture, pores and shallow scarring when you want results that last. The trade-off is patience: it is a slow treatment, and it usually needs a series.

Pros

  • Builds your own collagen. Improvement in texture, pores and shallow scars develops gradually and looks natural.
  • Long-lasting. After a series, results can last 12 months or more.
  • Versatile. It can treat the cheeks, full face and the crepey skin of the neck.
  • Combines well. It pairs with RF microneedling for deeper scar work, as in our Collagen Rebuild Package.
  • Subtle. It refines skin without changing your features.

Cons

  • Slow. The real change appears at two to three months, so you will not see it before a short trip ends.
  • Needs a series. Most people need two to three sessions about four weeks apart.
  • Small risk of lumps. Collagen stimulators can occasionally form small nodules; correct dilution, depth and technique reduce but do not remove this risk.
  • Not reversible. Unlike pure hyaluronic acid, the PDLLA component cannot be dissolved with an enzyme.
  • Temporary bumps. Injection bumps last one to three days.

Who Juvelook is best for

Our doctors see the best results in people with rough skin texture, enlarged pores, shallow rolling acne scars or early crepiness on the cheeks and neck, who want a long-lasting improvement and can wait for it. It suits people in their late 20s to 50s and works well as part of a longer plan across several visits to Seoul.

Who should consider something else

  • Sensitive, reactive or thin skin: a PN booster focuses on repair. See Rejuran Healer vs Juvelook.
  • Real volume loss in the cheeks or temples: a stronger stimulator may suit you. See Juvelook vs Sculptra.
  • Quick glow and hydration: microdroplet HA works faster. See Juvelook vs Skinvive.
  • Deep or pitted scars: resurfacing such as Potenza RF microneedling is often needed alongside or instead.
  • Medical reasons: avoid it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection or inflammation in the area, autoimmune flare-ups, or a history of abnormal scarring. Tell your doctor about blood thinners.

Comfort and what it feels like

Numbing cream is applied first, then the product is placed with fine injections or a cannula. Most people describe a moderate stinging and pressure that is manageable. A session takes 30 to 45 minutes. Afterward there may be small bumps, mild swelling and occasional pinpoint bruises for one to three days. If you notice a firm lump that persists, your doctor will want to check it; read does Juvelook cause lumps for more.

Value for money

Juvelook at Dernia starts from ₩299,000 for 2cc, with larger volumes for the full face or neck; see the Juvelook price page. Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation. A course of two to three sessions is a meaningful investment, but because results can last over a year, the cost per month compares well with shorter-acting boosters that need frequent repeats.

Our verdict

Juvelook is worth it for texture, pores and shallow scarring if you value long-lasting results over instant ones and can complete a short series. It is less worth it if you need a quick glow before an event or want a fully reversible product. Read the Juvelook results timeline to see how collagen builds, then book a consultation and your doctor will plan the dose and spacing around your trips.

Is Juvelook worth it?

It is worth it for texture, pores, shallow scars and crepey skin if you can wait two to three months and complete a short series. Results can last 12 months or more, which makes the cost reasonable over time.

How many Juvelook sessions do I need?

Most people need two to three sessions about four weeks apart. Your doctor may suggest fewer for mild concerns or combine Juvelook with RF microneedling for scars.

Does Juvelook cause lumps?

Small nodules are uncommon but possible with any collagen stimulator. Correct dilution, placement and aftercare lower the risk. Contact your clinic if a firm lump persists beyond the first few days.

Juvelook or Rejuran: which is better?

Juvelook builds collagen for texture and scars, while Rejuran focuses on repair and resilience for thin or sensitive skin. Many people benefit from both at different times.

When will I see Juvelook results?

You may notice mild hydration within days from the HA, but the main improvement appears at two to three months as new collagen forms.
