Myeongdong Cathedral A historic Gothic Revival cathedral on a small hill A calm stop on treatment day

Planning your treatment day

  1. Before your appointment: eat a proper meal and arrive with clean skin if you can.
  2. Earlier in the day is better: treatments that cause some redness or swelling leave you the evening to rest.
  3. Straight after: keep sightseeing low-key, and stay in the shade after laser.
  4. Evening: a short walk is fine; skip spas, saunas and heavy drinking.

A sample half day around your appointment

When Plan
Late morning A light meal, then walk to the clinic with clean skin
Midday Consultation and treatment
Afternoon A quiet visit to Myeongdong Cathedral and a short browse for sunscreen
Evening An early dinner, light on salt and alcohol, and an early night
Next day Namsan or Namdaemun Market once any swelling has settled

If you have a gap between consultation and treatment, wait somewhere calm and cool rather than in crowded, hot shopping streets, especially after laser.

What to avoid in the first 24–48 hours

  • Jjimjilbang and saunas: Korean bathhouses are a great experience, but heat increases swelling and redness. Wait at least 2–3 days after lasers or lifting and a day after injectables, or longer if your doctor advises.
  • Late nights with soju: alcohol can increase bruising and swelling after injectables. See can I drink alcohol after filler?
  • Very salty or spicy food: can add puffiness or flushing.
  • Long hours in the sun: especially after pico toning or IPL.
  • Crowds pressing against your face: rush-hour trains and busy market lanes; keep a little space after filler.

Getting around with fresh treatment

  • Taxis are easy to find in central Seoul and spare you crowded trains after filler.
  • Carry sunscreen, a hat and a light face mask; masks are sold everywhere and also help on dusty days.
  • Central Myeongdong is easy to walk, but Namsan involves steep paths and stairs, so save it for a day when you feel fully comfortable.

Shopping after treatment

Myeongdong is full of cosmetics stores. Buy recovery basics such as sunscreen and a gentle moisturizer, and save peeling pads and retinol for later. Read K-beauty shopping after treatment before you stock up.

Practical tips

  • Pharmacies: easy to find in central Seoul; look for the sign 약국 (yakguk).
  • Emergencies: call 119 for an ambulance. The Korea Travel Hotline, 1330, offers tourist information and interpretation.
  • Weather: summers are hot and humid and winters cold and dry; see planning treatments by season.
  • Payment: cards are widely accepted; clinic prices are in KRW and exclude 10% VAT. See payment and tax.
  • Getting around: a rechargeable transit card makes subway and bus trips simple.

Staying nearby

Staying within walking distance or a short subway ride of Myeongdong makes follow-up checks easy, especially if you have more than one session. A quiet room, blackout curtains and a good shower matter more than you might expect after treatment. If your plan spans several days, our 7-day treatment schedule shows how sessions fit around sightseeing.
