Thread lift prices at Dernia

A thread lift uses dissolvable PDO (polydioxanone) threads placed under the skin to reposition sagging tissue and stimulate collagen as they dissolve. Barbed or cog threads give lift, while finer threads mainly improve firmness. Because the number of threads depends on your anatomy, we price thread lifts by area. These are the 2026 prices for a thread lift in Myeongdong.

Plan Typical areas Price (KRW)
One area Jowls, mid-cheek or nasolabial folds ₩690,000
Two areas Mid-cheek and jawline, for example ₩1,190,000
Full lower face Cheeks, jowls and jawline on both sides ₩1,690,000

Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation.

What's included

  • An English consultation with a licensed medical doctor, who assesses tissue weight and skin quality and plans thread type and direction
  • PDO threads, with the number and type agreed before treatment
  • Numbing cream and local anesthetic at the entry points
  • Post-treatment cooling and a follow-up check where your schedule allows

What affects the price

Area and thread count are the main factors. Heavier tissue or deeper folds need more threads, or stronger cog threads, to hold a lift. Thin skin may need fewer, finer threads to avoid visible ridges. Your doctor will not add threads to raise the price; the aim is the minimum number that gives a balanced, natural result. If your sagging is mild, a non-surgical device such as ultrasound may suit you better for less money.

How many sessions you need and the cost of a full course

A thread lift is usually a single procedure. The lift is visible straight away, settles over two to four weeks as swelling fades, and commonly lasts 12–18 months while the threads dissolve and collagen forms. Some people add a top-up after a year. Over two years, a one-area lift might cost ₩690,000 to ₩1,380,000 before VAT. See the thread lift results timeline and our medical team's thread lift review for realistic expectations.

Plan around a trip with care. Expect three to seven days of swelling, bruising or tightness, and avoid wide mouth opening, facial massage and strenuous exercise for the first week or two. Book it early in your stay so the doctor can check you before you fly home.

How to compare thread lift prices between clinics

Ask how many threads are included, which type (cog or smooth), and which areas are treated. A low price may cover only a few smooth threads that firm the skin but do little lifting. Check whether a follow-up review is included. Our guide to shots, lines and cc explains how Korean clinics express quantities.

VAT and payment

Prices exclude 10% VAT, so a one-area lift comes to ₩759,000 with VAT. The VAT refund on cosmetic procedures for foreign patients ended on January 1, 2026, and this tax is not refundable at departure. See our payment and tax page for details.

Alternatives at different budgets

  • Ulthera Prime price — from ₩390,000 (100 lines): non-invasive SMAS lifting with no needles and little downtime.
  • Thermage FLX price — from ₩990,000 (300 shots, face): RF tightening for mild laxity, often combined with threads.
  • Sculptra price — from ₩590,000 (1 vial): gradual collagen stimulation that restores support over months.
