How the eye area ages

The skin around your eyes is among the thinnest on the body. It has fewer oil glands and moves constantly as you blink, squint and smile, so it often shows change first. Fine lines fan out from the outer corners, the upper lids can turn crepey and hooded, and the lower lids lose some of the firmness that once supported them. Sun exposure, rubbing and squinting at screens all speed this up.

Common eye-area concerns

Most people describe a mix of crow's feet, crepey, thinning skin, under-eye hollows, dark circles and under-eye bags. Each has a different cause, so the right treatment depends on which one bothers you most. For the lower lid in detail, see our under-eye treatments page or browse all skin concerns.

How the doctor chooses

  • Lines when you smile: Wrinkle Botox relaxes the muscle that creases the outer eye.
  • Thin, crepey skin: Rejuran Eye improves skin quality without adding volume.
  • Mild hooding or loose lids: RF tightening with Thermage FLX or Oligio X.
  • A true hollow: under-eye filler, placed conservatively.

Combining treatments

Many plans pair Botox for crow's feet with Rejuran Eye for skin quality, then add tightening if the lids are loose. The Eye Rejuvenation Package combines Rejuran Eye, Wrinkle Botox and Oligio X in one visit, with RF first and injections after. To weigh the two injectable options, read under-eye filler vs Rejuran Eye.

Planning around your trip

Botox and RF tightening fit any day of your stay. Rejuran Eye and filler are best early in the trip, so any swelling or bruising can settle and your doctor can check the result before you fly.

Eye-area safety notes

  • Energy near the eyes: when RF is used close to the eyes, your eyes are protected and settings are adjusted for thin skin.
  • Botox placement: toxin placed too low or too close to the eye can briefly affect your smile or lower lid, so doses stay modest.
  • Filler near the eye: small vessels here connect with the eye's own circulation. Choose an experienced doctor; a blunt cannula and small amounts lower the risk. Report any vision change, severe pain or pale, dusky skin straight away.
  • Swelling shows more: thin skin puffs easily, so skip salty food, alcohol and rubbing for a couple of days.

Frequently asked questions

Can Botox fix lines under the eyes?

Botox works well for crow's feet that appear when you smile. Fine crepey lines directly under the eye usually respond better to skin-quality treatments such as Rejuran Eye, because toxin in the lower lid has to be used very sparingly.

Is Rejuran Eye different from regular Rejuran?

Yes. Rejuran Eye, also called Rejuran I, is a finer polynucleotide formula made for the thin skin around the eyes. It improves thickness and texture gradually, does not add volume, and works best as 2–3 sessions.

Can Thermage treat hooded eyelids?

Thermage FLX can treat the upper and lower eyelids with a dedicated eye tip to soften mild hooding and crepey texture. It does not replace eyelid surgery when there is a lot of excess skin, and your doctor will tell you honestly which applies.

How soon can I fly after eye-area treatments?

After Botox or RF tightening, flying the next day is usually fine. After filler or Rejuran Eye, swelling can be more noticeable on a long flight, so leave two or three days if you can. See flying after Botox and fillers.

Will treatment get rid of my dark circles?

It depends on the cause. A hollow that casts a shadow responds to filler, thin skin that shows color responds to Rejuran Eye, and pigment needs a different approach. Your doctor will explain what is realistic for your type.
