Oligio X Review: Is It Worth It?
Quick answer: Oligio X is worth it if you want radiofrequency skin tightening similar in principle to Thermage but at a much lower price, and you are happy to repeat it every six to twelve months. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong it starts from ₩390,000 for 300 shots (KRW, excluding VAT). It firms and smooths skin rather than lifting deeper tissue.
- Our verdict: Strong value for early laxity and crepey skin; a budget-friendly route to RF tightening
- Best for: Early loss of firmness, crepey skin, fine lines and slack pores in the 30s and 40s
- Not ideal for: Heavy sagging, people who want the longest-lasting single session, pacemaker users
- Comfort: Pulses of deep heat with built-in cooling; most find it tolerable with numbing
- Downtime: None to minimal; brief redness
- Value: Good; around 40% of the Thermage FLX starting price for the same shot count
- Price from: ₩390,000 (300 shots)
Our take on Oligio X
This is our medical team's honest assessment of Oligio X, a monopolar radiofrequency device made by the Korean manufacturer Wontech. It is an editorial review by our doctors, not a summary of patient reviews, and it compares Oligio X with the other tightening options at Dernia Clinic Myeongdong. Our full set of assessments is on the expert reviews hub.
Oligio X heats the deeper dermis in a similar way to Thermage, so existing collagen contracts and new collagen forms over the following months. A cooling system protects the skin surface while the energy works below it. In our doctors' view it is one of the most sensible ways to get RF tightening on a budget. The trade-off is that results tend to fade sooner than a premium device, so most people plan on repeating it.
Pros
- Much lower cost than Thermage. The starting price is well under half of Thermage FLX for the same shot count.
- No downtime. Brief pinkness settles quickly, so it fits easily into a sightseeing day.
- Firms and refines. It improves crepey texture, fine lines and the slack look of pores that comes with lost elasticity.
- Versatile. It can treat the face, the eye area and the neck, which is why it appears in our Eye Rejuvenation Package.
- Easy to repeat. The price makes twice-yearly maintenance realistic for frequent visitors to Seoul.
Cons
- Shorter-lasting. Results typically last about six to twelve months, compared with 12 to 18 months for Thermage.
- Less long-term data. It is a newer device with a shorter international track record than Thermage.
- Tightening, not lifting. Like all RF, it does not reposition the deeper SMAS layer.
- Gradual change. The best result appears over two to three months, so you may not see the full effect before you fly home.
- Heat is still felt. Cooling helps, but bony areas can feel very warm.
Who Oligio X is best for
Our doctors see the best fit in people in their 30s and 40s with early loss of firmness, crepey, thinning skin, fine lines or pores that look larger as skin loosens. It is a strong preventive choice for people who want to stay ahead of laxity, and it is part of our Prevention Package for your 30s. It also suits travelers who want Thermage-style tightening without the premium price.
Who should consider something else
- You want the longest result from one visit: Thermage FLX usually lasts longer. See Thermage FLX vs Oligio X.
- Comfort is your priority: water-cooled RF is designed for gentler heating. See Oligio X vs Volnewmer.
- The problem is deeper sagging: ultrasound reaches lower layers. Read HIFU vs RF lifting.
- Hollowness rather than looseness: collagen stimulators or filler restore lost volume better than heat.
- Medical reasons: avoid RF with a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, during pregnancy, or with active infection in the area.
Comfort and what it feels like
Each pulse delivers a short wave of deep heat, followed by cooling at the surface. Numbing cream is usually applied for 30 to 40 minutes first, and your doctor adjusts energy over sensitive or bony areas. Most people find it tolerable and comparable to or slightly milder than Thermage, though sensitivity varies. The face usually takes 30 to 60 minutes. Afterward the skin may look flushed for an hour or two and feel slightly tight, which many people find pleasant.
Value for money
Oligio X at Dernia starts from ₩390,000 for 300 shots, with larger shot counts for the full face, eyes or neck; see the Oligio X price page for the current plans. Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation. Two sessions of Oligio X a year can still cost less than one Thermage FLX session at the same shot count, which is why many repeat visitors prefer it. If you come to Seoul only once a year, the longer-lasting option may be the better buy.
Our verdict
Oligio X is worth it for early laxity, crepey skin and prevention, especially if you value a lower price and can repeat treatment once or twice a year. It is not the right choice if you need real lift or want the longest possible result from a single session. Look at the Oligio X results timeline to see how the change develops, then book a consultation and your doctor will recommend a shot count, or a better-suited device.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers from our medical team. Still unsure? Ask a doctor or browse all patient questions .
Is Oligio X as good as Thermage?
Oligio X uses a similar monopolar RF principle and can give good tightening at a lower price. Thermage FLX has a longer track record and its results usually last longer. Our doctors recommend between them based on your skin, budget and how often you visit Seoul.
How long does Oligio X last?
Results typically last about six to twelve months and develop over two to three months. Many people repeat it once or twice a year to maintain firmness.
Can Oligio X treat the eyes?
It can be used on the eye area to firm crepey skin, and it is included in our Eye Rejuvenation Package with Rejuran Eye and Botox. Your doctor checks the area first and adjusts settings for the thinner skin.
Does Oligio X hurt?
You will feel pulses of deep heat balanced by surface cooling. With numbing cream, most people find it tolerable, and energy can be reduced over sensitive spots.
Who should not have Oligio X?
It is not suitable with a pacemaker or implanted electronic device, during pregnancy, or with an active skin infection in the area. Tell your doctor about metal implants, recent fillers or threads before treatment.
