Hyaluronic Acid Filler Brands Used in Korea

Quick answer: Korean clinics use imported hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvéderm (Allergan), Restylane (Galderma) and Belotero (Merz), and Korean brands such as YVOIRE, Neuramis and Chaeum. All are dissolvable HA gels that differ in firmness, flexibility and price. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, dermal filler starts from ₩150,000 per 1cc of Korean HA (KRW, VAT excluded).

What hyaluronic acid filler is

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar molecule found naturally in skin, where it holds water. In filler, HA is crosslinked into a gel so it lasts months rather than days. The amount of crosslinking, the concentration and the gel structure decide how firm or soft a product is and where it works best. Because it is HA, filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed, which is a key safety advantage. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong, dermal filler is injected by licensed medical doctors who confirm the brand and amount with you first.

Imported brands

  • Juvéderm (Allergan): a large family of fillers, from firmer gels for cheeks and chin to softer gels for lips and fine lines. Allergan also makes Skinvive, a microdroplet HA for skin quality.
  • Restylane (Galderma): a long-established range with gels for structure and others designed to move naturally, including for lips. Galderma also makes Sculptra.
  • Belotero (Merz): a range often chosen for fine lines and delicate areas.

Korean brands

  • YVOIRE (LG Chem): a well-known Korean HA filler range with options for volume and contour.
  • Neuramis (Medytox): a Korean HA range widely used for folds and contouring.
  • Chaeum: another Korean HA filler range used in local clinics.

Korean fillers are approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and are usually more affordable than imported brands. For many areas they give natural results, and your doctor will explain when an imported gel's particular properties are worth the extra cost.

How much filler do you need?

Filler is priced per cc, and 1cc equals 1ml. Lips often start with 0.5–1cc, a chin or nose commonly needs about 1cc, and cheeks may need 1cc or more per side for a visible change. On a first visit or a short trip, your doctor will usually suggest starting conservatively. Learn how Korean clinics price in shots, lines and cc explained.

How long HA filler lasts

Most HA fillers last about 6–18 months depending on the area, product and your metabolism. Lips, which move constantly, sit at the shorter end at about 6–12 months; under-eye filler commonly lasts about 9–12 months; firmer gels in the chin or cheeks can last longer. See dermal filler results.

What a filler appointment looks like

  1. Consultation: your goals, history and any previous filler.
  2. Assessment: the doctor examines and marks the area, often with you sitting upright.
  3. Product and amount: agreed with you, with the box shown if you ask.
  4. Injection: numbing cream or lidocaine in the gel, then needle or blunt cannula.
  5. Aftercare: no pressure, massage, saunas or alcohol for about 24 hours.

Safety: what matters most

  • A genuine, approved product: ask to see the box and the lot sticker, which can go in your record.
  • Anatomy and technique: injecting into a blood vessel is the most serious risk, so careful technique and knowledge of danger zones are essential.
  • Hyaluronidase on hand: a clinic should be able to dissolve HA filler promptly in an emergency.
  • Avoid unknown or permanent fillers: non-dissolvable products cause problems that are much harder to fix.
  • Who should wait: pregnancy, breastfeeding, or an active infection or cold sore near the area. Tell your doctor about blood thinners and recent dental work.

Know the warning signs after filler, such as skin blanching, severe pain or vision changes; read normal side effects vs when to contact the clinic.

Keep a record of your filler

Ask for the brand, product name, amount and lot number, and keep them with your photos. Any doctor treating you later, in Seoul or at home, can then plan safely around what is already there.

Prices in Seoul

Dermal filler with Korean HA starts from ₩150,000 per 1cc, lip filler from ₩190,000 per 1cc and under-eye filler from ₩290,000 per 1cc. Imported brands cost more. Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation. See dermal filler prices.

Filler or something else?

Filler adds volume. For lines caused by movement, toxin may suit better; for gradual, natural volume, collagen stimulators such as Sculptra are an alternative. Compare Botox vs filler and filler vs Sculptra, then book a consultation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from our medical team. Still unsure? Ask a doctor or browse all patient questions .

Is Korean filler as good as Juvéderm or Restylane?

Korean HA fillers are MFDS-approved and widely used, and for many areas they give natural results. Imported brands offer specific gel properties and longer track records. Your doctor explains which suits your area and budget.

Can I choose my filler brand?

Yes. Ask at booking or at your consultation. Price varies by brand, and your doctor will say whether the product you want suits the area.

Can HA filler be dissolved?

Yes. Hyaluronidase breaks down HA filler, usually within hours to days. It is used to correct unwanted results and, urgently, if filler blocks a blood vessel.

Does filler contain lidocaine?

Many HA fillers include lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to make injection more comfortable. Tell your doctor if you have ever reacted to local anesthetics.

How do I know which filler I had?

Ask for the brand, product name, amount and lot number at your appointment and keep them on file. This helps any doctor who treats you later.

Can I fly after filler?

Generally yes, but swelling can be more noticeable on a flight. Leaving a day or two before flying is ideal, and the doctor can check the result first.
