Profhilo Review: Is It Worth It?

Quick answer: Profhilo is worth it if dehydrated, crepey or slightly lax skin on the face, neck or hands is your main concern and you can plan two sessions about four weeks apart. At Dernia Clinic Myeongdong it starts from ₩390,000 per 2ml session (KRW, excluding VAT). Results typically last about six months after the second session.

Our take on Profhilo

This is our medical team's honest assessment of Profhilo, the high-concentration hyaluronic acid treatment made by the Italian company IBSA. It is an editorial review by our doctors, not a selection of patient reviews, and it explains when we choose Profhilo at Dernia Clinic Myeongdong. Our other assessments are on the expert reviews page.

Profhilo is often called a bio-remodeler. It combines high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid that is stabilized by a heat process rather than a chemical cross-linker. Injected at five points on each side of the face, it spreads through the tissue to hydrate skin and support firmness. In our doctors' view it does this job well, especially for crepey skin on the face and neck. Its limits are that it needs two sessions and that it does not lift or add volume, whatever the marketing suggests.

Pros

  • Few injection points. Ten points for the face makes it quick and less uncomfortable than many boosters.
  • Spreads widely. One session treats a broad area rather than a grid of tiny spots.
  • Improves crepiness. Many people see firmer, bouncier skin, especially on the lower face and neck.
  • Works beyond the face. The neck, hands and décolletage respond well.
  • Reversible. As hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved with an enzyme if needed.

Cons

  • Two sessions needed. The standard plan is two sessions about four weeks apart, which may not fit one trip.
  • Visible bumps. Small raised bumps at each point last about 24 hours.
  • Not a lift or filler. It does not restore lost volume or lift sagging tissue.
  • Limited for pores and scars. Texture problems respond better to other boosters or lasers.
  • Maintenance. Results typically last about six months, so most people repeat it.

Who Profhilo is best for

Our doctors see the clearest benefit in people from their mid-30s onward with dehydrated skin, early crepiness and a loss of bounce, particularly on the lower face and neck. It suits people who dislike many small injections and those who want to treat the neck, hands or décolletage at the same time. It fits best if you visit Seoul twice within about a month, or live nearby.

Who should consider something else

  • A one-session glow for the cheeks: microdroplet HA may suit a short trip. See Skinvive vs Profhilo.
  • Thin, sensitive skin needing repair: PN boosters focus on resilience. See Rejuran Healer vs Profhilo.
  • Volume loss or hollows: a collagen stimulator such as Sculptra or filler is the better tool.
  • Real sagging: lifting devices or threads will do more.
  • Medical reasons: avoid it during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection in the area, or with a history of severe allergies. Tell your doctor about blood thinners.

Comfort and what it feels like

Each injection feels like a short sting followed by pressure as the gel is placed. Because there are only ten points on the face, the treatment itself takes a few minutes, and the whole visit about 20 to 30 minutes. Numbing cream is optional for many people. Afterward you will see small bumps that look like insect bites; they flatten within about a day as the product spreads. Avoid massaging the area and skip makeup on the points until the next day.

Value for money

Profhilo at Dernia starts from ₩390,000 per 2ml session, so the standard two-session course starts from ₩780,000 before VAT; the neck or hands cost extra. See the Profhilo price page for details. Prices are in Korean won (KRW), exclude 10% VAT, and are confirmed at your consultation. Per session it costs more than a classic HA booster, but the broader spread and roughly six-month duration make the value fair if crepiness and hydration are your main concerns.

Our verdict

Profhilo is worth it for dehydrated, crepey skin on the face, neck or hands if you can complete two sessions about a month apart. It is not worth it if you want volume, lift or a scar treatment, or if you only have one short visit. See the Profhilo results timeline for how hydration and firmness develop, then book a consultation and your doctor will advise whether Profhilo or another booster fits your schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from our medical team. Still unsure? Ask a doctor or browse all patient questions .

Is Profhilo worth it?

It is worth it for hydration and firmness of crepey skin, especially on the lower face and neck, if you complete two sessions. It is not a filler or a lift, so it will not help hollows or real sagging.

How many Profhilo sessions do I need?

The standard course is two sessions about four weeks apart, followed by maintenance roughly every six months. Your doctor may adjust this based on your skin.

Do the Profhilo bumps go away?

Yes. The small bumps at each injection point usually flatten within about 24 hours as the gel spreads. Avoid massaging the area while they settle.

Can Profhilo treat the neck and hands?

Yes. Profhilo is often used on the neck, hands and décolletage to improve crepiness and hydration. These areas are priced separately from the face.

Is Profhilo the same as filler?

No. It is hyaluronic acid, but it spreads through the tissue to hydrate and support firmness rather than adding shape or volume.
